Yes MGW made some changes, different bushing type and 4 bolt design.
My only worry is that EVERYONE has said theres more noise. Im gonna add sound deadener to the outside of the shifter box underneath car and some to the tunnel under the car.

Definitely do this. Worth every penny, imo, and in the opinion of all other MGW owners.

Sai, unrealford is correct in his statements above. The leading bushing changed in shape and color (now it's red), and there are now 4 bolts on the side of the clamshell (instead of 3) to help with stability and ease of install of the shifter arm. There is no increase in difficulty in shifting into reverse, per se. The spring has a more solid positive feel, which gets a tad looser as miles rack on. It's perfect now. Does it require more effort to shift into reverse now versus stock? Yes, but in a better, manlier way The best part of the MGW shifter, is just that, SHIFTING. Vagueness is gone, and replaced by solid, reassuring shifts, esp 2 - 3. I really wish you could feel and try out someone's MGW before buying/installing one. But ask ANY mgw owner, and have them compare it to stock. Not even close.

Noise-wise, yes, there is an increase in NVH, but from what I observed, only in terms of the shifting process. Meaning, you can hear it ka-chunk into place...which actually I find very engaging. I love it. It's reassuring....reminds you that you're driving a beast. Love it.

Nope... no other sound that I noticed. I would not buy any more sound deadener material than what is provided by MGW. Just make sure you use ALL of it. It will be just fine.

Grabberpony.com allows you to customize. Just tell em you want a black 5.0 on the sides with a ride dot

Just ordered my MGW! Little expensive but hopefully well worth it!!

I'm so used to the 87-93 aftermarket prices. These cars everything's 3x the price!

^ congrats man! Worth EVERY penny I felt that way too initially... "Dang, that's expensive for a shifter!!!" Then you see it arrive in the box, open it, feel it, install it, then drive it. Then you think to yourself, "Ahhhh... I see why it costs this much.". Then you keep smiling as you shift into the sunset.

... there goes my poetic rambling for the day

Hahaha that was a cute poem lol.

Can't wait to get it. They said 3-4 weeks. We'll see how accurate that is. I really don't want to wait 8 weeks. Lok

I'm so tempted to order one. Did they charge you now or when it ships?

Well they asked for all CC info at time of
Ordering. So I don't really know. Would be nice if they waited, then again id rather get it over with and paid for.

Btw, no AMEX.

Lol yeah I really want one. I was on that 1st batch but due to some stupid reason I canceled it. But now that I'm driving the car more I'm realizing how much the stocker sux. It's like a plunger attached to a sponge. I'll have to check yours out when you borrow the spring compressors.
