Ok cool. When I had the UPR shifter bracket on the NVH was unbearable.

Finally got my MGW shifter installed 2 days ago. Good positive shifts, and very easy 2-3 shift at redline, instead of the vagueness of the factory shifter. Can't wait to get to the track and see if missed shifts are a thing of the past. There must be a lot of sound insulation as it's actually quieter in the car now.

That's good to hear. Did you put extra dynomat in or just what they supplied?

Wow 17.5 weeks, I think I would've went crazy. We're probably on the same batch right now. It's only been 2 days for me and I'm already antsy. Working a 4 day shift is going to be hard having 3 days off a week waiting for this thing. I'm probably going to pick up some overtime so I don't think about it lol.

Yeah I got in on the order back in October/November. In fact, I ordered the shifter BEFORE I even got my actual car. LOL. That's how confident I was... and it lived up to its expectations, if not surpassed it. I also spoke extensively with the owner/designer (George I think), great guy. I just had to wait about 2 weeks, and it got here.

Btw, guys, don't forget to order the HEAT SHIELD!!! It helps protect the heat from getting up to the shifter.

Ahhhh what is this heat shield you speak of??!? How much? I didn't see it on the site..

Im doing 6 day work weeks so I should be pretty busy. Sucks but it's good at the same time. Wanna play, gotta pay. Figured I'd work while the weather was less favorable anyway.

I didn't get the heat shield on mine, and didn't really see a need for it in my driving practices.

I don't think I need the heat shield either. We'll see, at least it's easy to add on later.

yeah I think the heatshield was 25 bucks? I don't remember. But yeah, not necessary. It's just additional insulation. I figured, I'm already down there, so might as well do it all in one swoop. But yes, easy to add later if needed.

Has the 1-2 bite when cold been alleviated after your mgw? I'm sure it doesn't cure it, just curious if it's any better.

Hmmmm... Not sure if I ever had the issue to begin with? Do you just mean difficulty getting to 2nd from 1st? If so, then with the maw, it was no problem with the mgw. Maybe someone else with the mgw can chime in?

My car had the dreaded cold clunk on the 1-2 shift with the stock shifter. The TSB (lower viscosity fluid) didn't improve it much, but the MGW shifter has made it much better - dare I say it cured it.

Your car more than likely came with updated fluid plus unless you're driving it in colder weather, like under 35, then it's probably likely you haven't experienced it.

Good to know Brian thanks. After watching the install videos a few times I'm thinking the lower box assembly with stiffer mount is more than likely lining up the 1-2 gates better. Either way, it'll be in the 60's and 70's next week...so I'll quickly forget about it then.

Can't wait!

Wonder if my car came from the factory with the new fluid. Either way I want to change to the amsoil. Is there a way to fill it when I do the shifter change?! Lolol

Really easy. The drain and fill plugs are right near the area of the shifter housing. There's a couple threads around with specifics on how to do it.
