Or quarter louvers.

I just don't get why anyone is disappointed in this car, it is exactly what frank Bullitt had in '68:
I would have liked a twin vented hood and the grille does look odd with so much of it blocked off but again it's exactly what Frank Bullitt drove.
Some are disappointed that it wasn't a 400hp car but the '68 car didn't have an extra 100hp either. I think for the money it's a great deal.
I am interested in what this is:
"...new H-pipe specifically developed for Bullitt"
- Highland Green GT
- GT badging removed
- Mild performance upgrades
- Handling upgrades
- Upgraded Sterering Wheel
- Unique Wheels - Bullittt type wheels in a different color than normal

I think it's that we have all become rather spoiled. and in seeing what there is available to each and anyone that wish's to modify thier Car is let down as it resembles a plain Jane ? We have too high expectations. It's a Ford Mustang & sure I'll Love & respect it for what it is.

Looks nice, but it needs a pair of these to complete the look:

Kelly: I don't think BULLITT fans want to simulate a fictional movie character but did want a new version of the car with its most imminent characteristics. What many of us had in mind was evolution and improvements. 40 years later one would think the new model would pack a few more hosepower rather than less, even if for symbolic reasons.

I think many of you are forgetting about "safety". I'm willing to bet the twin vented hood would not be safe- or would have to go through too much safety testing. Likewise the blocking of the grille probably has something to do with reducing air flow so the hood doesn't come flying up in your face.
1/4 window louvers probably reduce visibility far too much and are a safety concern.
You can mod these things yourself and not have to worry about passing safety guidelines- but Ford can't get away with that type of stuff.
Once I started thinking along this line of thinking I realized why Ford is limited in some of things we would've liked to have seen on this car.
I like the look of it. I admit it will take a bit of getting use to the Trans Am dash- I was hoping they would do it in charcoal.

I like it. The only two things I fault are the disco ball dash board. I could not and would not live with that. This is not 1977 anymore. Ford screwed up on that big time imo. Otherwise, its a clean looking ride. I like the simplicity of the bullitt platform. Im not a spoiler or body kit kind of guy.
Second, Im guessing that the extra 15 ponies are from a tune? Not enough power for a special addition Mustang as usuall. To this day only the Mach 1 had the power to keep it competitive with the lsx engines and it was a performance bargain. Dont get me started on the gt500 ADM or anything with the Shelby name plate.
I like the car and like the price. I just wish Ford would get serious with some more power. I admit in my older age that I am starting not to look at total power only but looking harder at the total package. Still, there is no excuse for Ford not to give us more power. The next Camaro and Challenger will both be 400+ hp with a much larger displacement. Im praying to God that the new Boss engines find their way into the stangs with a much larger displacement to keep us competitive. Im holding out until then.
