Well, we finally get to see it! Firstly, Ford should be congratulated for actually coming out with a movie-inspired car-twice!! Bravo to them. And I know it falls short for some of you and that's really too bad, because it would be nice to have a more "universal appeal" for the car than we seem to be getting. I love the fact that the car is very low-profile and that it looks like a V-6 until you peel away the special layers underneath. If you're like me, one who buys a car like this is out to impress one person only-himself!! Leave the bling bling cars for others. Definitely my kind of ride!
Yes, I wish it had the twin-vented hood, but sadly it doesn't. And I'm not too sure exactly what Ford is trying to accomplish with that swirly dash. I keep thinking of a Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. I even stated that the dash would be dark-how wrong was I ?! But maybe the dash will grow on you and bring you back to 1968 somehow ( maybe they should have used a faux Mac-Tac wood grain!! Yeehaw!!) ,as only time will tell. I also thought the price was way low on the option-wrong again, but pleasantly this time. This Bullitt is a great bargain for what you're getting! "Almost" the same as a Shelby GT, but for thousands less. One could take the savings and do whatever they feel they need to do to the car to get it where they want it.
I have a couple qusetions for some of you: Does the 315HP rating reflect regular fuel usage and can one expect more HP by using premium fuel? Perhaps one would get a small bounce from this change. Also, what would most of you do to get the car "right" (where it fell short)?

Overall, the 2008 does exactly what the orignal Frank Bullitt did. It's a powerful vehicle intended to fly under the radar. If you want a flashy Mustang buy a Shelby or a GT in Grabber Orange or Torch Red (hey, I did). But if you want something more understated that can fly under the radar and still take down a Honda Civic, get the Bullitt. The one thing I would say is I do wish there were more original trim pieces/parts specifically built for the Bullitt that I could buy after market and add to my GT (like the fuel door I added to my 01 GT). But overall, Ford did a pretty good job keeping the Bullitt them simple and effective at the same time.

I think this new Bullitt is very unique. Can you imagine Chevrolet or Chrysler producing a Camaro or Challenger and not loading it up with stripes, scoops, badges and the like that cry for attention? Not likely.
I just love the understated look of this car!
