400hp 4.6L DOHC Aluminum block for Bullitt!
I guess because for the time, the 04 Mach 1 had a completely different engine with 300 HP compared to the stock 04 GT with 260. Seems to me Ford should do more than just tweek the stock GT engine for an SE. Small horsepower improvements on the same engine used to be common practice for an upcoming model year.

The bottom line is no one knows for sure what level of performance will be on the poroduction version. All we have so far are hints, guesses, and expert opinions which do not amount to facts.

I wonder if the "editing" had anything to do with Carroll Shelby's admission of borrowing (
) the King of the Road name from the then proposed Corvette 427 King of the Road and bragging about it?
Very original.
The Corvette 427 would have been better suited for that name. Its no secret that Carroll stole the name from Chevy..so why the editting by Amy B?
Agreed. I actually find is a pretty interesting story. And arguably the real 'king of the road' at that time had been built by Carroll Shelby's crew, although it had already left production and wasn't the car to wear that moniker.

have kissed and made up?
