400hp 4.6L DOHC Aluminum block for Bullitt!
I DO, however, hate the BS that has surrounded the arrival of these contemporary cars...and continues to flourish to such an extent as to alienate many Mustang enthusiasts.
Is a long way off like 1 year from now?

I suspect you can't say much about future product, however, if that 400hp came out of a non-supercharged aluminum block engine, you might be nominated for sainthood!
PS - Thanks again for the direct dialog. I appreciate it, as do others.

Don't the Shelby boot-lickers have their own thread(s)?
Oh you know I'm just kidding... mostly.

I think it's pretty unlikely that either the Boss or the Bullit is going to have big 400 hp numbers. Even the Shelby GT is just an intake, muffler and timing advance w/premium fuel addition. Engines cannot be re-cammed and re-compressed without Ford incurring major emission re-certification costs which cannot be paid back through sales of a limited editin high performer.
Unless they go to a completely different general purpose engine, which has been rumored - but which I doubt - and re-certify for use across the line-up, which will mean that every GT gets the benefit and you can have one for 500 over invoice, they are not going to produce a 400 hp limited edition so that ebayers can charge $25,000 over msrp. Ford is in this business to make money for themselves, not for dealers and ebayers.
The Mustang Shelby Cobra GT500 is one thing. Two or three more special editions cannot be based upon fundamental engine differences resulting in a hundred horsepower, like back in the '60s. You'll be stuck with your intake, exhaust and timing mods.

Well they better do something if they intend to compete with the new Camaro and Challenger. I just hope they keep it in the same price range. The Mustang has always been an affordable car, raw V8 power for a reasonable price, anything with shelby's name on it excluded.
