According to the Nissan press release the NISOM 350Z will be the GT/CS of Z cars. Same 306 HP engine with just a body kit and special seats added.

NEW YORK (April 4, 2007) – Nissan North America, Inc. today debuted the newest addition to the legendary Z® sports car lineup, the performance-oriented Nissan NISMO 350Z, at the 2007 New York International Auto Show. NISMO is the premier supplier of high-performance aftermarket parts and accessories for Nissan vehicles around the world. This new NISMO 350Z, the fifth in the 2007 350Z Coupe lineup, features an extensively developed list of unique equipment – including a special body package and improved handling equipment. It goes on sale at Nissan dealers nationwide in July 2007.

The most striking visual feature of this special vehicle is the NISMO aerodynamics package, which strongly resembles the Super GT championship winning ZÃ’s. Featuring an aggressive front fascia with chin spoiler, side skirts, an extended rear fascia with underbody diffuser and a rear wing, the NISMO 350Z produces additional aerodynamic downforce to provide enhanced cornering and handling performance.

Additional performance features include a special NISMO-tuned independent multi-link suspension, Brembo brakes with four-piston front and two-piston rear calipers (with 12.8-inch front and 12.7-inch rear rotors) and special NISMO-branded gunmetal gray RAYS super lightweight forged-alloy wheels (18x9-inch front and 19x10-inch rear with 245/40WR18 front, 265/35WR19 rear Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires). A NISMO-branded tuned exhaust adds an even more authoritative tone to the ZÒ’s 306-horsepower V6 engine.

The NISMO 350Z includes a full complement of 350Z standard features, including the new VQ35HR 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 306 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque, a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission, Traction Control System (TCS) and Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD).

Inside, NISMO 350Z drivers receive special treatment with unique black cloth seats with red inserts, red stitching throughout the interior and special NISMO white-faced tachometer. All NISMO 350Zs include a NISMO-etched aluminum plaque mounted on the center console, designating its limited edition status.

Other standard equipment includes a HomeLink® Universal Transceiver, cruise control, aluminum pedals, illuminated steering wheel audio controls and auto dimming rearview mirror, power windows, 3-bay gauge cluster, High Intensity Discharge (HID) bi-xenon (high and low beam) headlights, LED taillights, Advanced Air Bag System, side and curtain side-impact supplemental air bags and Active Head Restraints.

“The combination of aerodynamic enhancements and performance tuning adds up to a Z® with enhanced cornering, steering precision and handling,†said Bill Bosley, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA). \"The NISMO 350Z is the ideal package for true enthusiasts – adding a high level of aesthetic and performance enhancing equipment not available in the aftermarket – while retaining the reliability, durability, and comprehensive warranty found standard on every 2007 Nissan 350Z.â€

This is how i would do the bullitt if i were Ford.

-Makes the car body identical to the stock gt with a blank grill.
-DHG paint
-New Bullitt specific seats.
-Dark painted 18" bullitt rims
-GT500 suspension and brakes.
-either a SC 4.6L(terminator) or N/A 5.4L with atleast 390hp (to match 390 ci from 68)
-6-speed manual.

Done.

I think that comparison is flawed. The NISMO has functional performance aerodynamic enhancements while the GT/CS is simply an appearance package.

If you are regularly able to drive > 100 MPH I might agree with you.

My impression is that it is noticably better in open track type sessions, not just >100 MPH.

If it could hold 320 FLYWHEEL torque at 7000 RPM, it would be right at 426 flywheel HP there.

the concept 4.6 dohc engine the ford built, was too expensive to produce. plus it never reached 400hp to the flywheel. i dont know why this thread has lasted this long.
a source from fourcam:
LOL!!! Hah! That's the previous iteration of the "BOSS". XX designed the intake for it. It's basically a 2001 Bullitt style, mirrored, and with larger runners. It also has the Shelby GT500 heads on it. It's a 4.6L, and it only made 332HP with 10:1 compression.
That program got axed over a year ago! They wanted a dual runner intake, which XX also designed for them, but that proved too costly to manufacture, so they killed the program. XX warned them of cost way up front, but they wouldn't listen. XX also made as much power with the single runner manifold, but again, no one was interested.

also the current 4.6 3 valve motor. saleen had to stroke the motor to just barely peak over the 400 mark and the insiders say its not that strong. again from fourcam:
Because all you're doing when stroking a Modular is weakening the integrity of the design, in multiple ways. RPM limitation for one, you can make the same power as a stroker, safer, by spinning the stock stroke motor a few hundred rpm higher. Pertaining to the design itself, the 3.75" stroke pulls the piston skirt roughly 1/3 of the way out of the hole at BDC, which can cause instability and piston scoring. A stock stroke motor has the skirt barely peaking out by comparison. The forged 4340 Kellogg cranks used in most stroker kits have 2" Chevy journals and are not as strong as stock versions, and there is increased side load on the rods.
As for the 3v heads, you won't be making over 400rwhp with them (even ported and fully built) if that.

If after all these years Ford & Roush can't figure out how to get 75 - 80 HP / L out of the 4.6 mod motor, it's time for Ford to give up and start buying V8s from GM.

Loved that quoted part about the 4.6 strokers with the chevy journals not being as strong as the OEM versions. If the BOSS or whatever the next-gen V8 will be called is reserved for trucks only, Ford better hurry up and derive a V8 based off the D35 with all the goodies carried over.

Thanks for stopping in.

Yeah the rumour was killed a while back but people still keep posting.
I think it's because until people see the Bullitt, they still have hope about this motor.
They just don't want to believe Fourcam

With what's coming in the future, I don't see Ford spending a heck of a lot of time on the 4.6/5.4 mod motors.... when they'll have the Cyclone and Hurricane variants.

both andy and tim have laid this rumor to death on the day it was released. the bullitt has a better likelyhood of recieving a factory blower(roush does a lot of work for ford) than a dohc 4.6.

that being said ford has cracked down on future news. the last i heard from tim is that ford was working on a new 3 valve head(who knows if its meant for the bullitt or any new mustang), and that the bullitt may have between 335-350hp. now he cant say anything about the new mustangs.
