Looking forward to seeing what 2010 brings to the party. Well, partially looking forward to it - I don't really need the trade-in temptation.

me too man. Hey, Hollywood what is the most important feature that the new mustang MUST have in your opinion (besides irs lol)?

For me it's the 5.0. I know many insiders have said that it won't arrive until 2011, but I would just be really disappointed if the stang had a new body style with an old powertrain.

For me, the 5.0L and 400 bhp would be critical for the GT. Other than that, just step up the refinement and technology options, and I'm good.

GM is taking the Camaro global. Wouldn't it be cool if the Mustang became available in other parts of the world, too - and not just as a specialty imported gray market vehicle, but offered by Ford?

I'm totally with you guys. In fact, I've been a Mustang lover, ever since the original 64 1/2 model debuted in April of 1964.

Therefore I could also care less, as to whether or not the Challenger, and upcoming 2010 Camaro are better cars. The bottom line, is I've remained a loyal Mustang fan, because of the fact that Mustang has remained as the sporty car, designed for the average Joe, at an affordable price.

That being said, I don't expect the Mustang to be as refined or equal to the competition. As it was never intended to be, in the first place

For all that really matters to me, is that I'm fully able to enjoy the Mustang experience, along with the privilege of owning such a truly American Icon as the Mustang.

And for those who wish to flame me for being brand loyal, or whatever you choose to call it. Then fine, so be it.

As I fully admit to being a true Mustang enthusiast, in which I'm also **** proud of as well !

IIRC, once Mustang debuts on the GRWD platform in 2014 ? I was under the impression that Ford will then market the Stang worldwide.

Unfortunately, Ford can't afford that philosophy. Enthusiasts don't ultimately determine the success of the Mustang. It NEEDS to be fully competitive mechanically and dynamically with the Camaro and other competition in today's market.

I'm sure that when Mustang debuts on the all new GRWD platform, it will be fully competitive mechanically, and dynamically with the Camaro, providing that Camaro survives that long, and also with other competition in the market as well.

In the meantime, other than jumping ship over to the competition. The only other option, is to continue remaining patient, just awhile longer until Mustang debuts on the all new GRWD platform.

IIRC, the current S-197 is only available to European customers, as a specialty imported market vehicle.

However as far as I know, the current S-197, is not imported to Europe by Ford, just yet.

I go back to the tender age of 6 in 1973 when first laid my eyes on a Stang. We were outside playing marbles(remember that my old school fellas?) when suddenly I heard this ripping exhaust sound (ba ba ba ba ba )I looked up saw a goldish yellow 70 Mach cause it had a black stripe going down the side. It was jacked up in the back with wide tires out back. I was mesmerized! That day, my Pops 65 three-deuce 421 Pontiac became a blur. Heck, I even liked the "II's", hatchbacks only.

The nail in the coffin was in 87 while stationed in Germany when Sgt. Kitchens took me for a spin in his brand new 5.0 LX hatchback. I was treated to an all out full throttle,1-2 . Need I explain how that 20 year old kid (me) felt. Never looked back. Some of these cats on here are just band wagon Stang bangers. Of course this car could be improved and I hope it keeps on getting even better. It's already come a long way but it is what it is. Heck my son even got a little miffed when I told him the Mustang wasn't the fastest car, only perhaps the most feared on street because of how heavy the after market is. It's almost(?)an addiction. (Hi.. My name is Shawn) You go up against that plain Jane sleeper(like mine will be)and get your world ROCKED! When it comes down to "fun to drive muscle, Mustang is where it's at for me.

Gonna tell you a scary story and I'm out: I was headed to work one o-dark-thirty. I stopped to get gas and as I was filling my tank, I looked off to the corner of the parking lot and eyeballed an 89 or 90 Ford Probe.. I looked at my car, I looked at the Probe and I looked at my car again and said to myself, "Whew! That was close," Think about it... Like my mans avatar says; Stangfoeva.

Great story man.

You should submit this on 2010mustang.com on the 27th to try and win a free '10 stang. I'd tell ya mine but I'm saving it for the contest

Shawn, I couldn't agree more. As I've also noticed there's a certain minority on here, that are indeed nothing more than just on the Mustang band wagon, until the competition arrives with their own pony cars.

In the meantime, it just goes to show who the real Mustang enthusiasts are, and then exposes the ones whom are just going through the motions.

Correct, my friend. In the UK, at least, there are a number of companies setup that import them or, of course, there's the personal import route. I bought my car from a US serviceman who was stationed in the UK. Nothing officially sold from Ford though.

If Ford goes ahead with the GRWD platform, then it would make sense for them to be sold officially, especially if RHD is available. Still, with petrol the equivilent of
$10/gallon () the Mustang will only ever be a bit player in the UK.

Hey Paul, just want to say thanks for your confirmation. As this should clear any further doubts, from those whom are in need of addressing their concerns.

On my way home from work today, I stopped by Wendy's to grab a burger. In the parking lot IN PERSON I saw the new Challenger. So I got out and peeped it. I admit that it made me smile for about a minute but I thought OUR ride was good sized, in which I love.. This car is huge! And wide! WTH!!! This lady in a mini van parked next to it ask me if it was a restoration. I said "No love, it's a 2009.(?) So while I was in the drive through the driver of the challenger left.

Well a few minutes or so later I cruised past that same Challenger on the highway while yapping on the cell to my brother about it. He saw one in person also and in a nutshell we both agreed, "Here today, gone tomorrow." He was raving on how the Mustang looks so much better as a modern interpretation of a classic and he's a GM nut. You suckers go ahead and jump ship if you want to because you never was with it. Me give up my Stang for that or the Camaro?? Yeah... Sure your right.

I couldn't have worded it better myself Shawn, so I say, let the nay sayers go right ahead and jump ship if they so desire. For they really aren't true Mustang enthusiasts to begin with, but instead are doing nothing more than just riding the Mustang band wagon !

I kinda have to disagree with people bashing on those not "loyal" to Ford and the Mustang. What is wrong with choice? In my opinion Ford should try to wow us with the next Mustang, knowing that we may "jump ship" If the Camaro is the better car for the money and you like the styling it is simple logic to buy one. I was once a loyal die hard Ford guy but there are just so many cars out there! I recently decided to buy a Subaru Legacy instead of the Fusion I was eying and I am more than happy with my purchase. Ford needs to earn it's money with the Mustang and won't get me as a repeat buyer if i'm not getting the level of performance I want! By the way my list of Fords is pretty long for my age so I always did prefer Fords. In recent years Ford showrooms have become pretty bland. Besides the Mustang there isn't much to get excited about I hope that the next wave of new gen Fords like the Fusion, Focus and Taurus wow me so I can go back to the blue oval during my next purchase but once again they need to earn my purchase.

my List of Fords owned.

1987 Mustang GT
1997 Mustang GT
2004 Mustang GT
2003 SVT Cobra
1998 F-150

And I'm personally fed up with certain individuals on here, who attack those that continue to remain as true Mustang enthusiasts. Just because they don't happen to agree with their opinions. In which I'm also fed up with their wiseass remarks, along with resorting to name calling.

That being said, it's just like you said Phil. We all have the right to make our own choices, whether we choose to agree or disagree. All I'm saying is this, we should all be capable of expressing our views/opinions without fear of being personally attacked.

And Btw: Neither Hollywood North, or yourself, have anything to do with my rant.

That is fairly stated but it's not about loyalty to Ford per se or even the Mustang... In comparision to the other muscle cars I like the way the Mustang looks. Heck Mustang hasn't been at the level of performance of the F body twins from 93 to 02 and the 04-06 GTO. I have been clobbered by my boys for long about how stock to stock, we'll get our butts kicked. Listen, I don't give a rats a** if we didn't get a hp bump for 2010, I think the Mustang at 4years old looks better than both Challenger AND Camaro. If it was about 400 hp and IRS, I would have bought that ugly behind GTO which I test drove 5 months before I picked up my ride. I just wanted to find out what 400 hp felt like. Nice..

As for the rest of the Ford line up I'm neither here nor there. If I was an SUV or a 4 door man, it probably wouldn't be Ford but I give kudos to the F150. It's funny that the Legacy was mentioned cause I plan on jumping on a Subaru Outback to pick up the daily driving chores. I didn't expect a 300 hp at no time in a modern Stang. When we got it, it was a plus. The hp bump for 10 and 5.0 for 11 will also be a plus and that "plus" is something that true Mustangers enjoy. In MY driving era we've been dealing this since the IROC Z's with their 350 Vette motors and we're STILL a serious force.
