I got my second letter in the mail yesterday too and made an appointment this morning-appears there's no issue with ordering parts or anything. But I'll see for sure next week.

I called my local dealer yesterday... they have the part and I have an appointment scheduled for Friday. They told me that parts are only available for models up to 2012 and that more recent models would get parts later.

I'm in no hurry now. With Toyota adding 3 million more cars to be recalled for airbags and emissions, i can see a recall for our recalled airbag inflators

I'm going to take advantage of it while I can. They say the problem is worse with older inflators and especially in hot humid climates (like Florida) so even if it gets recalled again later, at least I'll have a relatively new one that might not be a problem for a while.

Well today I was on the ford owners site and now I have two airbag recalls. One for the driver and one for the passenger airbag. The passenger airbag recall states "Recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available." The driver one states "Recall incomplete" I have not gotten any letters stating the parts are in yet for either one.

My first letter was last May (2015) for my 2013 Mustang. Three weeks ago, my dealership said they ordered the part for it. Took it in for service and repair last week. The tech installed the part. Then, Ford declined the repair stating that it was not paying for any recall repairs on the 2013 & 2014 yet. The dealership has to take the new part back out and reinstall the faulty one. WTF???

If they don't try to bill you I'd make them wait a year or two before you take it back!!

It was still in the service dept when they called Ford for $$$ and was denied by Ford. Haven't gotten the vehicle back yet.

Received my recall notice last week stating that parts were available to perform the repair. Stopped by the dealer on Saturday to make an appointment. They said that they would order the parts and call me when they were in, but to not hold my breath. I was told that they have been working on this recall for at least a year and most orders were taking quite awhile.

So lets see. Ford has informed me that both my drivers and passenger air bags are possibly defective and need to be replaced. But Takata is so backlogged that it takes months or years to get them replaced. Meanwhile my wife and I are supposed to drive around in a car that if the air bags deploy they could kill or severely injure us. That's great. I wonder what would happen if I took my 05 GT down to my dealer and wanted to trade it in for a new 2016? Not that I would do that because I love my car, but I bet either they would tell me that they can't sell it so they won't take it on trade or they would probably give me a lot less for it as a trade because it would have to sit there until they can perform the airbag recalls. I really think the whole situation stinks. Well at least my 2015 Explorer has no recalls that I know of.

My fiancee finally got her second letter to get the final recall done on her 07 GT. She had a temporary fix done a few months ago.
The dealer has ordered the part so we wait until they call to set up appointment to get it installed.
I've received two recall letters for my 14 but neither are for the actual fix. Just telling me when the parts might be expected.
