Airbag Recall

Very interesting. Yesterday I went to owner.ford.com and input my VIN and it showed that my Mustang had the recall. This morning, for whatever reason, I signed in to my account on owner.ford.com and checked for recalls and it said there were none for my car. I signed out and closed the browser tab, then opened a new tab and went back to the site without signing in and it still said there were no recalls. There must have been something cached. I went to my tablet and the site and entered my VIN and it showed the recall for my car. I used a different browser on my laptop and went to the site (without signing in) and it also showed the recall.
The bottom line is if you check on your VIN do so WITHOUT signing in.

It is dated yesterday, though I don't know if that makes any difference. I guess the thing to do is stay out of collisions for the 2-3 years until they get caught up.

uh oh! I hear this could be really bad news. the airbags can randomly deploy. I read something about this. there's millions of cars (in Canada) being affected by this recall. I wonder if this is related. If yours is affected, might be worth looking into our cars as well. Wonder if Deysha has any insider information.
I just called the service department. They said that this is a new recall and that it could be years before they get around to it. What he was told is that there is a chance that the airbag may not deploy. He said call back in 6 months and check back.
IF any airbag lights come up on the dashboard, then I will have to call them back and they'd try to get me into another car till its fixed.
otherwise, keep driving it.

As per the NHTSA Administrator Mark Rosekind; he encouraged customers to bring their vehicles in for service as soon as they are notified that parts are available, but that they should continue to drive their vehicles until then.

I just heard back from my dealer's service rep. He said Ford does NOT have any replacement parts at this time and it will probably be third quarter before they do. He said Ford would send out a notice when they have parts
Deysha - is this correct? I realize that Ford can't wiggle its corporate nose and make parts appear when there are none, but we are talking about a device that is responsible for injuries and even deaths, aren't we.

Deysha, I've been getting conflicting information. Ford Owner website says no outstanding recalls on my '13 GT and NHTSA says there is. Past experience with my dealer leads me to conclude that unless I can (figuratively of course) grab them by the back of their heads and point their nose to a notice, they will put me off. Any idea as to when the Ford database will be updated with the (supposed) recall information?

My 2014 GT didn't show up on the Ford site as having a recall. I did it before I signed in and after and got the same results. I guess I will just wait to see if they send me something.
