Just had my Airbag replaced this last Wednesday... Almost three years after I bought the car.

No more Frag Grenade in the steering wheel for me.

Maybe the replacement has been recalled.

I did think of that and will have to ask my dealership. I just had it inspected and forgot to ask!

I just called the two closest dealers to me, and both said it would take FOUR HOURS to do the recall. WTF?! It's just that ugly-azz steering wheel pad, right?

Wow! They must be really incompetent. It's less than an hour.

I agree with Jon, fours is carzy. Mine was done in 20 minutes, and the tech didn't even move the car from the service lane. All they do is remove the entire component (horn button included), and stick the new one in place.

Just got mine done today at Salerno Duane Ford in NJ. I was in and out in a half hour. Kudos to those guys for taking care of the car like it was their own.

I had mine done about a month ago - Gilboy Ford, Whitehall PA. They were waiting and ready when I came in. Took about 15 minutes.

Drivers side airbag replaced today at Five Star Ford, Warner Robins, GA. 15-20 minutes and done. I have not had a recall notice for the passenger side yet. They noticed the ProCharger whine and loved it. The service manager even took pics of it.

So the only airbag that is replaced is the one on the steering wheel??? Aren't there other airbags like on the seat or something?

On the 13/14 it's only the drivers side being replaced. The passenger side bags are being replaced on some of the 2005 to 2012 models.

I have a 2013 Mustang GT. Just called my local dealer, they confirmed only one bag needs to be replaced based on the VIN number but yup, they told me 4-hour wait time. Maybe it depends on how busy your dealership is.

It took about 40 mins to replace mine. They made it a priority job.

Boy is this thing messed up. I supposedly had my driver side replaced last October. Over the winter I get this big yellow alert notice in the mail saying I need to have my drivers side replaced. I think they screwed up. Then in March I get another notice, but just a letter this time.

I finally talked to my dealer's service writer about a month ago while it was in for spring service. He tells me that they did do a swap in October, but Ford rejected it. Guess the part was not the correct version(?). So Ford is requiring it to be done again. So they are shipping bad parts? So here is the kicker... they still can't get the correct part. Says he will call me when they get one in.

Crickets..., I hear nothing. It had been right at a month ago.

So I check with another dealer close to my office. Sure enough they have plenty.

So yesterday I got it replaced for the 2nd time. Lets hope this one sticks.
