I'm getting the same conflicting information. Ford's website has NO recall notice. The Safecar.gov website says I DO have a recall. Why the conflicting information?

My Ranger is recalled as well.

Go to the Ford owner website (owner.ford.com I think) and get your vehicle set up there. A vehicle health report will show if there is a recall or not.

Yep, went to the website and it shows up for the Ranger but not the Mustang. I'll try to do a vehicle health report when it comes back from the dealership (it's 2nd home).

Went to the FORD owner site, and our 2014 GT is on the list.

Called the dealer, they said they don't have any info from FORD yet.

I was talking to the guys at the service desk over at Hyundai yesterday. I asked them and they told me that their cars haven't been impacted by this crazy airbag fiasco. They said that they don't use the same takata airbags and that the product they use is manufactured in Korea for their Hyundai's!

do what I do in this case, go to the NHTSA site, put your vin in and PRINT out the page that reads "open recall for this vehicle 1" and the info and show them that, the NHTSA trumps all as far as whats true (they are the ones who regulat this crazy recall junk) so if they say theres one then just assume there is and fix it!

My dealer said that what I received was an advance notice of a recall. I told them the Ford recall number given to me from the owners.ford.com site. I said so it is an advance notice of a recall and letting me know that "IN INFLATOR RUPTURE COULD RESULT IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING AND POTENTIALLY INJURING VEHICLE OCCUPANTS". I have to wait for the letter in the mail first. The dealer won't do anything until I receive the letter from Ford. I at least want to be put on a list for the dealer to order the parts and get this taken care of ASAP.

Yeah, the Takata is in apocalypse mode and all the other airbag suppliers are desperately trying to keep up with demand. The Takata issue has resulted in about 34 million vehicle recalls now. The parts aren't going to be instantly available. Think about the already existing airbag production, and now add 34 million on to that. This recall won't be done over night. Look at the Cobalt ignition switch issue, that affected several million cars and it took months to complete. Just hang tight, the recall is a result of only 139 injuries/6 deaths out of 34 million affected cars. I think you have a better chance of winning the lottery than being injured by the airbag.

Coyote5-0 is right...the odds against are staggering. Sit tight because this ain't over yet. Reuters reports that even the airbags that were replaced might have to be re-replaced.

You do not need the letter (which will be mailed out next month) in order to get this handled, killaz05. At this time you’re waiting on parts. You may want to speak with the service manager about this.
