magazine times vary wildly.. here's Motor Trend on the '12 3.7 auto/conv from 4 months ago,
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...6_convertible/
"At the track, the Mustang hit 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, and completed the quarter mile in 14.8 seconds at 95.3 mph. Both are impressive numbers. Braking from 60 was a decent 124 feet."
edit: ^ that's 4.0 territory

Bro, I don't know where englishtown is, but watch you tube. You got stock 2011 v6 with 2.73 gears running 14 flat to 14.1 1/4 mile. So now the auto Magizine's are garbage. Perhaps they lie about the numbers. Motor Trend has the 2010 Gt 0-60 4.9 seconds, 13.6 or so 1/4 mile. That's not accurate. 2011 v6 0-60 5.1 seconds 13.9 1/4 mile. That's not accurate test. The fact is yes the older Gt's are faster than the new 11 stang if everything is equal. Equal driver skill and all. The 11plus stang will hang right with the older Gt's within two tenths of second or so. If the 2010 Gt has bad driver then 11 sixer is going to beat it.
Now you're telling me about youtube videos... it's pretty clear you got all these opinions from 3rd party sources.
Yes I've seen the v6 run 14's on youtube, and yes I ran 13.3 in my stock mustang, so how do you still say an 11 v6 is just as fast?
How did I run 13.3 in a car that is "SUPPOSED" to run 13.8 13.9???
I like how you keep changing from just as fast to a tenth or two, to completely ignoring my real world experiences lol

The op Is like that Honda kid who thinks he can keep up with you because he has a v-tec
14s are not impressive... my lightly modified 01 silverado isn't that far behind that. Break into the 12s or even under 13.5 then you will be able to talk.
But wait! You drive a falsely advertised 305hp sports car!

I can grab an 05 gt right now for like 14k lol.
what is your point on the $ thing?
Sounds like some kind of "sixer justification"
Your first mistake was quoting magazines and thinking everyone must run that.
Your second mistake was thinking nobody would you out on the BS

Clearly, there is no point in debating any further the speed numbers of these vehicles. The Gt's are awesome as all mustangs are. In the realm of things it really doesn't matter that ones car can go 13.3 seconds in the 1/4 mile or 14 seconds.
I don't race on a track and have no desire to do so. For those of you who track race, that's cool. You all have your reasons for buying a v8 as I have for the sixer. Both are great cars and depending on ones wants and needs the v8 may be better for some and same for the sixer. That's why Ford gives four Mustang levels to choose from depending on what one is looking for in there driving needs.

the reason its a few grand less is that its not built for the same duty. The reason its a few grand cheaper is the drive shaft is cheaper and the brakes are smaller and blah blah blah...

Sure getting the 5.0 was financially no problem but I had no need for it. I don't race on track. I didn't find the Gt worth paying the extra 7 grand for the bigger engine for my use of the vehicle. That's not to say the 5.0 is not worth the extra money but for my needs its wasn't worth it.
