We just got a Honda Fit over the weekend and I won't be buying a new car for few years.
But yeah, Kia Optima (as well as Sportage) will be on top of my wish list.
What can I say, I hate global Fords ... If I wanted a euro-designed car, I would look at Volkswagen, not Ford. I love boxy Fords with truck grille, like the current Fusion. IMO, it looks much better then the new one.

The 2.0 EB I4 AWD Fusion Titanium is $32,200
I priced mine for $36,555. Which is a bit higher than the current top model sport AWD V6 similarly optioned.($33,240)
The Lincoln MKZ purposed pricing.
MKZ 2.0 EB I$ AWD MKZ Reserve (note* no pan roof...) $40,965
I priced it out for $45,035
I know they're trying to not draw comparisons and make them each their own model... but Seemingly the top of the line fusion is $8,480 less than a comparative optioned MKZ. A better ratio, though higher overal cost compared to outgoing.
The 2012 MKZ V6 AWD optioned out is in at 44,085, so not as big as a price jump to 2013...
But the 2012 MKZ is $10,845 greater than the 2012 Fusion Sport. (fully optioned, similarly)

You're right, Zoran. I assumed it was going to launch in a similar timeframe to the Fusion, but it seems production in Genk (Belgium) was due to start in April '13 but that's going back several months

Originally slated to commence production in April next year at Ford’s Genk plant in Belguim, industry site Automotive News Europe reports that Ford has postponed the launch while it works to finalise homologation and specifications.

"We do not want to go too much into the details, because it is an internal problem. It is not an unusual problem. April 6 was just an internal date for the production start," Ford Belgium spokesman Arnaud Henckaerts told the website.

Looks good. Very good. Less of a jump from the current Mondeo than the old Fusion to new Fusion, but still impressive.
The 1.0 EcoBoost in such a big car is a surprise though.
Just a pity the launch is still over a year away....late 2013

hmmmm.... looks pretty much exactly like the US Fusion.
