For that much increase in a price, I expected the wheels to be nicer, not uglier and cheaper.

Fusion V6 does not have advantage in power and fuel economy compared to Fusion I4 EB. And that's all that matters. 2012 Fusion 3.5L is rated at 18/27 mpg so Ford needed to do a lot of work to match 2.0L EB fuel economy numbers.

If you wanna a V6 - get a Taurus. 2012 Taurus actually has a lower price than 2012 Fusion V6.
Or buy a vehicle from a competitor that does offer a V6, this could be a problem for Ford if they don't sell the car on looks alone. I admit I think the new Fusion along with the new VW Passat are the best looking mid-sizers being offered today but the new Accord packs much more power and equal efficiency at more reasonable prices. I have a feeling Ford is going to have to offer rebates to move many of the highly optioned models.

For the same price, most of people would buy the Escape or Edge instead of Fusion wagon.

Wagons are pretty much dead in the USA.

My ***** is the option mix. Why can't you have leather with a stick, and why do the performance options and luxury options have to be mutually exclusive, I'd be inclined to get the SE with a stick, but then if you want leather, you can't have a spoiler?????? Sometimes I just don't get the Ford marketing guys at all.

Not to mention much better resale value.

However, I don't really trust Honda's transmissions ... Accords have been having issues with transmissions over the past 15 years.

My choice for a mid-size car would be the Kia Optima or Nissan Altima.

I get that most folks here probably don't want one. But it would be so cool.

If I had the money, it'd definitely be worth thinking about.

For a Fusion Hybrid, i think the pricing is great, but can't help thinking how this will encroach on the new MKZ pricing, which bases at $35,925.

Drove a 1.6 SE Appearance package car last night. I was impressed. The 1.6 is a great fit in this car, much to my surprise. I found a few small bothers, but nothing that would keep me from buying one down the road.

Its not that they don't want you to be able to pick a la carte, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper to throw packages together, saves huge amounts of time, and creates opportunities for less mistakes.

I am very glad to hear this. I have been waiting to drive a 1.6 SE, my local dealer only has the 2.5L in inventory....

It did seem a bit flat above 5000 rpm, but the low end was great for city driving. Overall, the car was very composed on bumps, quiet, and easy to use throughout the cabin. I did feel that the MFT screen could be a bit more vertical for better viewing, and a tad more top end, but that's about it.

Makes sense, the Focus ST is similar, feels like its going flat around 5,000 to 5,500 and feel like its running out of steam by 6,000. These are low end/mid range engines it seems.

I really want to drive a 2.0 Titanium car. Personally, I'm still waiting for HIDs and some type of Sport package for the Titanium trim before I pull the trigger.

Gus, are you guys developing parts for these?
