2013 Fusion/Mondeo discussion
Nice Fusion SE on eBay...
My 08 Mercury Milan is the most reliable car I've ever had. Over 81,000 miles so far and havent even had to touch the spark plugs. My CD player ate a bunch of my CD's the week I got the car, that got replaced under warranty and I've had zero issues since.
All I do is change the fluids when needed and drive. The V6 is smooth and gives me decent mileage. The new Fusion is going to take the quality of the car to a whole new level and I'm sure it will be just as reliable. Ford's quality has done nothing but go up since I picked up my Milan.
I'm definitely eyeing the new Fusion myself...

I love the new fusion. But I don't see it taking the crown from Camry any time soon. Not unless Toyota has some major problem again to shake buyer confidence.
That said, have y'all seen the latest Camry commercials? They crack me up. They're trying the paint the Camry like its some kinda sports sedan.

They always crack me up when they say "fun to drive Corolla" or "all-terain RAV4" ...
My Bad its an Ecoboost, no Hybrid only 36 MPG.... I love the ride!
I have to say I really do like the new Fusions. My sister has a 2009 model and I have always been quite impressed with the Fusion. My biggest complaint with the new model is the fact that they ditched the V6 model. I understand that they now offer a turbo 4 in it's place but I'd rather have the 6. If you look at the MPG numbers the V6 Accord and Camry basically get the same MPG/Power numbers. Though I haven't driven a turbo 4 Fusion from the past experiences I doubt it will be as smooth as the outgoing V6.
Lets just hope at some point Ford offers an AWD V6 model. This car is nice but I have a hard time getting around the idea of paying $30k for a 4 banger. Just my .02

I think I read somewhere that 85% of all Camrys sold are 4-cyl models, so there is really no need for a V6.
I have a 2008 Fusion SE 2.3 and it's been a nice little car. So far no issues at 53,000 miles. I have few complains (5 speed auto is horrible, the car itself is really noisy), but overall I got a brand new mid-size car for $16,000 so I'm happy.

It doesn't matter how desirable the particular car is if customers don't buy it.
If NA V6 is better than EB I4 and if people really wanted it - I guess Ford would've offered it.

Ford might lose some customers by not offering a V6, but will gain many more by offering two turbo I4 engines ...
I like the 2013 Fusion; I just don't like the price.
If I was in a market for a mid-size car, I would buy a Nissan Altima.

You don't get the same power. You get much lower torque at much higher RPMs with a V6.
You don't get the same fuel economy.
2012 Fusion 3.5L V6 is rated at 18/27 mpg.
2012 Fusion 3.0L V6 is rated at 20/28 mpg.
2013 Fusion 2.0L EB I4 is rated at 22/33 mpg.
