Eduardo's 94 Mustang GT thread
This sucks.
The strong raw gasoline odor keeps coming out of the engine bay and I made some research on other site and decided to stop driving the car due to this since I don't plan on loosing the car in a fire
Seems like this only affects 94-95 Mustangs only, 6 or 8 cylinder.
Apparently, the nylon fuel feed lines tend to get brittle and crack due to poor quality design or defect, and cause a fuel leak that is not as easy to find due to the rubber outer covering the nylon hose. This is more common with cars that sit a long time without being driven, from the posts of this thread.
I checked them out yesterday and couldn't find a leak on them. And the strange thing is that the strong odor only appears when the engine is hot after driving it

Lil. update:
Checked the fuel lines again and nothing, zero, nada! I wired the fuel pump directly from the battery to see if they leaked but they seem to be fine. Then I looked at the canister purge solenoid hoses and the one that goes into the evap. canister looked weird, so I grabbed it and yuck, it's deteriorated to the point that it leaves black rubber ash on my hands. I removed it and gonna buy some replacement hose to see if the problem is solved. That's the hose I didn't change when I replaced the valve cover gaskets

I would suggest replacing all of the hoses for your EVAP system. All you have to do is take off your fender, which isn't as hard as some claim, and buy a couple feet of tubing.
Removing the fender cover is even easier than removing the whole fender. There's a ton of space down there. I think I'll put in there an electric air horn I have laying around the yard just for fun

It may be faster to take that off, but easier.. I wouldn't say so. Just pulling the fender is a lot simpler than working upside down and around all the suspension junk.
Awesome!

Glad to hear it. That is some scary stuff.
The other "stinky" problem it has comes from the pass. side manifold. Hope it's not cracked... or hope that it is
LT's FTW!! That is, if the're avaiuable for auto aplications, if not then shorties.
I gave the Mustang a bath today

Maybe if they weren't IN YOUR FACE CHROME!!!! They would look better, but yeah, as is they are not something I'd want on my car either.
I'm 50/50 with them too, but honestly they're not worth the $350 my brother wants for them, plus his wife busted two tires
And since fixing the peelong chrome from that wheel won't be cheap either, they're a no go.
I'd rather have these
