So, I decided to finally put my lazy arse to type a progress thread of my ride. I'm very sorry for the delay, but whatever :D
I'll start by showing the photo of the car when I bought it on April 13th/07

As you can see, it needed a fresh coat of paint badly & some tlc. It was bone stock except for the radio. Not seen on the photo is the almost useless front bumper w broken fog lights, dented right fender & the surface rust that was on the upper part of the passenger side door and a dent on the lower part in front of the C scoop on the same side.
The A/C had refrigerant but doesn't work :mad:
And the previous owner lost the key's, only had the ignition copy. I had 2 door keys made, along w another ignition one for spare.
The interior was really dirty! I spend a good deal of time cleaning it, specially the carpet, since it's gray. I emptied the trunk and tossed away the garbage that was inside and hosed it clean.

A few day's later I bought the first "presents" to my fiveOh: A Bomz CAI, MSD tfi coil, cap, rotor, cap housing, spark plugs & wires, and oil and filter. While doing this I noticed that the car didn't have it's fender liner, so that went to the "must buy" list.

I got some spare $ and started buying to make the car look a little better on the outside. I scored a new bumper cover for $35 :woot: both side markers for $50 :nice: and the fender liner for $65 :( @ a Ford autoparts. Also bought from them the passenger side window switch since it was burnt for $21 :) Now both windows worked!
I installed everything in a day and boy, what a difference it made! even if the bumper was on the bare black plastic, it could pass like a LeBra :jester:
Some days later the left window motor didn't want to roll up the window completely, so I removed it and tore it apart to find the plastic "bean" like thingies shredded to pieces :mad: but fixed them w 3 O/D 7/16" nuts. Put it back together and has been working ever since.

July 21/07 Dissaster struck!
 

I was going to work early in the morning when some sheet head made a turn without any warning and despite my efforts to evade his Craprolla hit him in the rear corner w my right front :banghead:
Guess how my reaction was :mad:
The damaged parts were:
right fender
right side marker light (was new :mad: )
bumper cover (was new also :mad: )
header panel
Luckily the insurance gave me $1400 out of the $1700 of the estimate. :woot:
Then when I bought the parts I left the new bumper & fender to my favorite body shop so he could give them a base coat so they wouldn't deteriorate until I left him the car for paint. When that was done, I mounted them along w the other stuff.
It looked even nicer than before :woot:

On the later months I kept doing minor stuff to it, but the most annoying problem it had was the passenger side window quitting to work without warning :banghead: I can't remember how many times I removed that window motor to clean, grease & seal it to work some days and getting stuck again. It looked like everything was ok with it. The brushes were like new, I replaced the plastic "beans" w the 7/16" nuts and the rotor & gear moved freely. The motor ran well unloaded, but when put on the regulator if it went all the way up or down, it got stuck. :mad: When I finaly had the chance, I replaced it w an Autozone part and can't be more happier with that. No more posseded window.

I also re-wired the radio cuz it was burning fuses like cigarettes due to poor wire insulation and ran wires to the rear deck speakers. Now I had 4 ch stereo sound :)
I also made prepped @ a Auto Paint Shop 2 spray cans of the body color (paint code RD) to paint some interior parts to make it look different.
I bought some things for the 'stang in 50resto to install them after the car was painted:

Interesting tid bits you got to make your car really clean. I would never have even thought of replacing some of those, no matter what horrible condition they are in... :p

Dissaster part deux
 

Several months ago the car got hit in a 3 vehicle accident. Another Crapolla was crossing the intersection and a speeding Ford Ranger hit it so hard that the black rolla spun a 180deg and when going at it both of them took off the front end of my Mustang with them :banghead:
The worst car was obviously the corolla :doh: mine was second and the ranger was the least damaged, visually speaking. It resulted that the pick up was taken without authorization from the owner's house by one of the guy's working there. I think that they put charges on him, since the guy fled on foot from the scene (maybe bec. I got out of the car like a grizzly bear :rofl3: )
The truck's insurance paid for all the damages of the three vehicles.
My car was repaired by a shop the insurance co. uses. It looked good from the outside & inside, with Bimmers, Benzes, Saab's & other high end & regular cars getting repaired. They even restored a 91 Mustang GT hatch for one of their customers. Boy, was I mistaken when I took my car back and checked it home. The morons didn't put back the underhood lighting harness and the foam that goes behind the bumper cover :mad: Also, they didn't straighten enough the hood latch assembly, so the hood had to be slammed shut. But alas, the car was fixed by me and my best buddy.

The details are what make the difference. I didn't believe that myself until I did them on my first cars. On my Volvo were clear corners & polishing ALL the mouldings. On my Sentra it was replacing the license lights w chrome units (mine's were black) etc. I try to make them look their best without breaking the bank until it's absolutely necessary.

Oh, and I almost forgot one of the most important (for me at least, lol) mods of them all, to make it sound like a Mustang. I slapped in a set of 40 series Flowmasters to get rid of the F-150 exhaust note when the car was only two months with me :woot: Those were $250 well spent (installed)
Now, this past week I bought a brand new A/C compressor so I can put the Climate Controls to good use once again. Next will be buying the accumulator flush & recharge. I'm not sure if I should put a new expansion valve, since I'll have to remove the whole dashboard to replace it, and that's no fun at all :bad: Let's see what happens.

Hey firsst time I've seen this Eduardo my hats off to you for doing what you have done for a Mustang thus far ! You'd think there should be grants made available for things as this Yah Right !

Yep. Paint is teh most significat thing apperance wise. And that color is what made me buy the car, sides the deal I got for it. Can you believe I got it for $2k :woot: $1,000 off the asking price :D

My buddy just went by and looked at the bumper's scratch, and it turns out that there's wall paint stuck there and he can get most of it off :nice: Let's hope! :hail:
