My dad is probably the most lax one in my family about me driving. Other than my grandpa. I scorched his tires trying to do a 3 point turn in his 69 Chevy truck. Though I can definitely claim to have been scared ****less at the time. He just smirked.

Just don't do it with them in the vehicle, that's all. And don't get busted for it either. Easy.

You guys sure know me lol. Already ordered 2 4" square Rebel alliance crest decals to put on the sides, gonna do some pinstriping too to make it match, only difference is, its black and not white, so its gonna be a nifty spin on it. only $9! and free shipping lol.

just make the white into black and invert a few of the black lines and it will be good

and did i mention I'm going to wear my han solo costume to the track? lol. I know he never wore a helmet, but shoot, thats why i can get away with a black helmet lol

Well, no real updates on the build of the car at all, but I have to say, the handling of the car keeps suprising me. My best friend lives up past the windy roads in the hills of woodside. I've always loved driving to her place, even in the old Mazdarati. But I took the Bullitt to her place for the first time (hadn't really gone over in a long while) and man, shifting during that drive, combined with the fun-ness of this car is just awesome. There were a couple times where my brain told me "ok, better try and control the oversteer now" and there was none to be controlled! Thats what really got me excited. I could not take the turns i took at the speed i took them at in the II without getting sideways, and man that is a good feeling. This car loves windy mountain roads.

On another note, I have finally discovered the phenomena known as "wheel hop" often associated with solid axles. It involved a speed bump I didn't see till a little too late, and an "OW" from both me and my passenger. In any case, i love this car

OH! AND I HAVE PICTURES!!! I entered my baby in her first show, there were no prizes, just a fundraiser for a local community college. I didnt anticipate actually being allowed to enter my car, so i didnt clean her, and she was filthy! I felt so ashamed... ah well, t'was rather fun. Pictures soon

Welll,

I took the Bullitt to the track today. II wasn't ready, so as soon as my helmet was handed to me by Mr. UPS I plastered some Rebel Alliance crests to the side and I was out. Got there a little late and only got one practice run, and then got shuffled into some bracket racing. I lost both races but I had a boatload of fun!!!

My times? Unimpressive
14.745 @ 94.01 (first run) RT: .384
15.053 @ 95.48 RT: .911

The first run was with traction control, both runs my shifting could have been better. Second run I did a burnout first. This car barks the tires even in shifting to second without TC on.

My first race was against a 12.6 second '64 Chevelle I was destroyed
Second run was against a 13.7 second Firebird, not much better lol.

I don't mind losing though, I had so much fun and learned a good bit. I did do better than one guy in an 06 Mustang GT though (14.9) and every import there, so at least I have that to feel good about.

what strikes me as interesting were the kidns of cars there. From high dolar dragsters to 80s crown vic ltd wagons with plywood and sheetmetal "aerodynamic tools" riveted on. The best races were when local highschoolers raced cops.... and won Had I known about those, I would have ran there.

What really sucks for me is that when choosing prestaging lanes, i picked the lane with the coolest cars. It turned out to also be the lanes with the FASTEST cars. Gee, that worked out well lol

anyways, pics of helmet, and video of my "fast" run. You can see I got a little excited by the staging lights lol. My inexperience showed pretty blatantly, but again, who cares?? It was so much funnnnnnn. I'll scan the timeslips tomorow.

Can't wait to do this more often and get some more practice in. If I can break into 13s, I'll be rather pleased with myself
