Thanks Scott, I'll definitely be talking to Doug more the closer I get to being able to afford all this stuff. He helped me out and explained a fair bit to me when I almost ordered a CAI and Xcal a while ago, but I never got around to ordering it.

Cruising around online and I came across this:

http://www.mustang50magazine.com/fea...t_results.html

Read the table Turns out the 01 Bullitt is just as good or better than the 08 Bullitt below 4000rpm

I'm sure you can tell, I'm thrilled

Wow, now that you know this you might not lose as bad in a race.

oh actually you will lose by a ton still, but whatever helps you sleep at night.

I gotta say Arin if you actually got around to building this and did all of the things your saying this would be one awesome stang! If you do though definately do the carbon fiber and stripe it and simply leave the stripe portion unpainted. It would look sick as hell doing that. Especially with some fat meats on the back these have so much potential that so many people never use.

Thanks Chris, I really like that CF stripe idea. Might have to go ahead and do t when the time comes

And Batman, I know I'll lose a race. Terribly. But it sure is cool to know I make more power below 4K

I know i'm just messing, actually i'm a bit suprised since the VVT on the intake suposed to allow for better low end torque and top end power.

I guess it helps, without it air velocity would prob be even lower at low rpm and it would produce even less power.

It shows that when Ford said the Bullitt intake makes a bigger broader torque curve... They weren't kiddiing!

Besides thas where most of my driving keeps the tach pointed So I can pretend I'm faster than newer Bullitts with those same constraints (event though chassis dynamics, suspension and gears in the new cars will still cause me to lose)

when its done though.. New Bullitts will fear me...

Got bored and removed the air silencer today. Not much of a power gain (though noticeable, barely)

The really noticeable part is the sound. There certainly is growl enhancement, as most folk seem to report, along with some good throttle response imrpovement. Every mustang owner should remove that thing

My Dad doesn't quite understand the concept of improving a car, so he was freaking out about how my car "needs" the air silencer because its that way from the factory. Wait til they see how this car turns out after the mods

LOL. Removal of the air silencer from a Mustang is like the "gateway" mod - it leads to wanting to spend more money towards feeding the horsepower addiction!

Well thats good news. It's not like I wanted to spend money on this car yet

*sigh* lol. I might just move up to a conical filter right now. The paper one is gettin dirty and an open filter costs less than the JLT

Don't be hatin' on the flows :P They're good mufflers, and I love their sound on an older car. But I won't be putting them on the Bullitt ever, and most likely never on the II

However if I ever own a big block, I'm getting flows. Case closed.

So true... At work when I told people that I put an exhause on my car, all but two or three asked if I put Flowmasters on. When I told them that I put Borla Stingers on it, they looked like this

Also 30# injectors seem to much for the rest of the mods you have seems like 24 would be a better choice. I doubt the stock heads can flow enough to need that much fuel.
i want to know where he can get 30# injectors for 100 bucks! i paid 399 for mine! )

flows are great on older cars, but there's some awesome new stuff out there. I love the slp loudmouths, esp. for the S197's, they sound incredible

For the money ~399.00 this cat-back systems looks/sounds pretty darn good. http://sss-exhaust.com/newproducts.php?file=1

Couple Mach owners just purchased the system. (I'll never give up my Borla Stingers though! And Flowmasters are great on 5.0's!! Had them on all three of my Capris.)

Man, you are absolutely right. I have no idea where that number came from. Even used ones are still twice my number

And flows sure are great on older cars and 302s. My buddy's 302 galaxy has one flow in it and it sounds magnificent. It has no performance modifications but dare I say it sounds better than the II

I actually would say otherwise. The II sounds alright. I'm still jealous of the side exhaust on the II as well.
