You guys have been in the business a while. What is your experience with shooting a fiberglass hood with a metallic paint and then having it right next to the same paint on the original metal fenders? I know even on my stock Vista Blue CS the plastic parts are slightly off of the metal ones.

i wish I could see it painted with stripes on a mustang with the STOCK GT bumper rather than that red car with that aweful BIG opening in the front bumper, kinda looks like a nissan skyline front bumper

+1... I want to get in on this group buy but I really want to see it on a stock GT front end. I dont like the front end to look so busy with the hood fog lights and little pony emblem...

Picturesss

I was just compairing the GTS hood to the DCF hood and the GTS hood seems to have a more agressive look to it. The nostrils(or w/e) are much more pronouced along the edges then the DCF. The DCF hood seems to be smoother looking. Man its really hard deciding whether or not to purchase this hood before seeing it mounted on another stock GT

Whats everyone elses take?

EDIT: I was reading around and is it true that Truefiber is going to have two styles of the GTS hood? One called the GTS500? Im confused now... Anyone care to clarify?

It seems to me the GTS hood intakes are slightly swept matching the angles of the front of the hood whereas the Trufiber intakes are straight across. It is tough to tell and I hope Trufiber gets one on a car, paints it, and shows multiple angles so we can see it.

Yeah, itshard to tell whether Im going to like those lines on my hood. I think everyone liked the DCF hood because it looked sleek and didn't interrupt any of the lines the car makes. I guess we'll have to see...

So I guess there isn't two hoods from TruFiber? Just that one. Because I remember they used the DCF car pictures to promote there hood and if this is the finished product the hood looks entirly different.

EDIT: Do we know if the heat extractors are functional?

Phil from Trufiber said from the beginning that the hood wouldn't be 100% identical due to copyright issues or something like that ,but he said it would be very close. So I guess this is it .I'm not pulling trigger till I see it installed and painted..Yao can we get in on group deal after Phil posts pics installed??

So I guess its not going to look as close to the DCF one as I'd like it to be. Oh well...

Yeah I'm with you Boltzman. I'd like to see the finished product installed painted and waxed(lol) before I get in on this group by. And Im sure there are alot of others who are in the same boat. Im sure once poeple see it on a car there will be much more then just 5 people interested.

So... Come'on TruFiber lets see one in action!

Looks a lot like the Cervini offering if you ask me. I was hoping for more like the DCF hood... guess I'll just hold off until I find something I'm 100% wanting, I just don't care for the hard edges in the TruFiber offering.

Yeah and I cant be sure how I'll like it until its on a car and not in black backgrounds with text all over.

TruFiber if you want to sell, get a car setup!

EDIT: Although the GT500KR does have hard edges and I do like that hood. So it really comes down to seeing a finish and mounted product.

My take is that the TruFiber hood is closely patterned after the 68 hood. The DCF hood was a stylized version that fit the stylized retro look of the 05 + Mustang. So unless someone else comes up with a DCF type hood I'm considering the group buy on this hood. Perhaps a good fiberglass guy can fillet the edges of the scoop to look like the DCF hood. I'll have to check around, Ecklers corvettes is just up the street so I may have a few options.
