If using that above bracket then I am sure we can use that set up on the new hoods because Alliance hoods (see picture) have metal latches at the hinches (red box)

My worry is that with out the prop rod supporting the front of the hood we may get cracks around the the hinge.

I think the fiberglass hood is lighter therefore, I dont think it will put much strain to the hinges. Additionally, if the hood stands a up high, then it put even less strain on the hinges.

However, if the struts are too strong, then it will put strain on the hinges when you close the hood.....

Actually the fiberglass is heavier than the factory aluminum hood. The problem is that the strain will occur ahead of the metal insert in the fiberglass as one pulls the hood down against the resistance of the pistons. Repeated strain may cause cracking of the gel coat, fiberglass, or both.

What would need to be installed on hood in order to make them safe for struts?

i think the RCF hood for the GT will be nice too....

i was considering the '68 hood they had for GT500 when i was going to the GT500 fascia. it became way too costly.

But if RCF is going to still charge $900+ for the hood, that might be hard to swallow....

RCF guys are incredibly professional and nice though!

i am confident too by speaking with phil and the fact that phil has this amazing guarantee makes me feel comfortable.

so far, that '68 hood they are doing looks the best of anyone i have seen for the GT.

What a functional hood scoop and you guys are going to pass . Why would you want to cut it out , to do what? . I don't know how many threads I have read where people complain about the non functionablility of hood and side scoops and now you complain that they now work and you want eliminate that .
This is one of the reasons I am looking at this hood, that and it looks great too.
Sometime I have to wonder about people

Actually I will have a twin turbo setup so the air going to the stock air box location will not work for me. I want the air routed into the engine compartment for cooling. If you had read the other thread describing this hood you would know this.
