so..thats 5 guys! WOOOHOOO!
Woah there man... You need to calm down. I never said I was in for this. I said it was a nice hood and if they would lower the price for a 10-15 person group buy then I would most likely bite. $600 for a hood I would still need to have fit and painted so total ~$800-900 is a little steep for me right now. I'm not saying I don't like the hood. Just not in my money plans right now for that much.

I would be hesitant to order anything until I see a pic of the hood they are selling, the pic they are using is an old DCF pic, so Trufibers could very well be different, at least in minor ways. I am not saying theirs is different but who knows at this point.

So what does that mean? If the hood doesn't fit properly, will he pay for return shipping and send new one?

im not sure if thats what he means however..phil did say alliance guarantees proper fitment. if that is the case and it doesnt fit right, there is either replacement sent out for free or this can be returned as well..

thats the logic. feel free to call phil on this issue.

i might call phil soon to ask the question.

You will have to count me out on the hood. I talked to Phil today and the front scoops will route air to the stock air box through a tunnel formed on the underside of the hood. This is not what I am looking for and he said cutting the tunnel out would not work so I will have to pass.

Just talked to Phil. There is a 30 day money back guarantee on the hood..but you have to pay return shipping.
-If there is a defect in the hood, you call him up and they have their shipping co pick it up (they pay shipping back)
-He said you cannot use hood struts, but a good bodyshop can put metal brackets on it so that hood struts can be used.
-he said the hood is not EXACTLY like DCF's,but the slight measurement differences are not noticible w/naked eye. I guess they replicated it but had to change the measurements slightly for legal reasons.
-it is functional with air directed over CAI
-Hood pins are not necessary

I am still thinking about buying cuz of the hood strut issue.I'm gonna ask the lincoln/mercury bodyshop that I use if they can make brackets for struts

guarantee

yes,
i spoke to phil as well.

-he guarantees best aftermarket fit.
-if there are fitment problems, he will take it back free of shipping.
-if you dont like it for WHATEVER reason besides defect or fitment issue, you can return it but you have to pay for shipping: i think this is VERY fair.
-once the hood arrives, he will take pics and show to all the people in the group buy and only fully charge the credit card when we say its ok to.
-phil says feel free to call him so he can explain the guarantee to you as well.

im still in....so, so far there is 1 hood on hold. I hope 4 more of you go for it.

What type of bracket were you thinking of? The strut issue is one of mine too. I would like to keep mine . It will be a few days before I know something with the Ins. co. . But I think we have a bit of time till May.

I guess like a metal plate to reinforce where screws go in

here is what I have
I would love it if these hoods could handle the struts. Yau, the hood prop is a pain in the butt. with struts you open the hood just like most normal cars and close it by just pulling down.
