Dave ,for some reason when I view your pics in the large size ,I can't save them like a regular JPEG file..It requires me to open them using a program..Any ideas why?

Do you know if the center bead was a solid strip of gelcoat? I asked my shop todo what they could to minimze it. Told him someone else was having it removed and he said he was gonna work it down till he felt comfterable. But he did say he could take it down some. I'll have to print these off and go by the shop Monday.

He also just expressed a little concern since the hood was so big that maybe the bead was there to add support against any future warping. As if the bead was a support being down the middle. Anyways I'll drop by monday to talk to him.

PICTURES FROM OUTSIDE!!! Looks great btw. Cant wait for mine

What did you do about the heat extractors? Jw

They had my car so long, the in and out of the bodyshop everyday with no warm up fouled out my plugs, that is next, then I will be able to take pics
Then the sqirters, then the trays/ heat extractor deal!
I saw it when it was removed, it appeared to be no part of the integrity at all, Phil at Trufiber did not even know it was there!!!
I just tried to upload a pic of it removed before the peak was added, but the website is having difficulty at the moment.

Dave,
It turned out really great! I absolutely love the color!
My only issue, is with the gaps between the hood and fenders!

I don't understand why you have such large gaps. I still don't understand why your body guy had to "rework" the mounst or holes. I have seen many TruFiber hoods on cars, but have never seen these large spaces. This is how my hood(s) have always fit, and others I have seen are the same.

Davids2toys - Please roll that thing out into the sunlight and get some more shots for us. I want to see some more photos of this hood on cars without stripes.

For all of you who now have this hood installed, how much visibility forward is lost with the raised hood?

Dave,
I agree, some pics of that bad boy out in the sunlight would be awsome. Give us the full effect of that color with the new hood. How about you also post a couple pics of your Cobra? Those cars are the chit, and I wouldn't mind seeing yours, too!

Scott,
You and me both, and those were the good pics...your hood fits great compared to mine, and seeing your car looking so good is killing me! Your car looks great
I think their was issues with this hood long before it ever got to me.
This hood is bowed in the middle, and lifted up on the pass side rear, in fact, the whole pass side is higher than the fender from the middle all the way to the back. This hood needed lots of extra work to get it presentable, Phil and i talked about a lot of damage to the front edge of the hood, somebody had tried to repair it because it had gelcoat on it, but they did a real crappy job, as soon as the bodyshop started messing with it, the filler just kept falling out. Same with bottom of the louvers. Phil saw pics of this weeks ago and agreed that it was totally unexceptable, he seems to think it was done at the place where they make the hoods, he gave me his word that he would help me out with the cost of this extra stuff I had to do ... I am shooting Phil an email with a bunch of pics in various stages of this job, plus the finished product. I have a bunch of pics that I don't want to post, because I dont want to come off like I am slamming this product or ruin any buisiness for tru fiber.
If you remember our conversation on the phone, the reason they elongated my hinges on the front holes is because the hood was to short, so they cheated it forward because it would be less noticable in the back.
The hood also seems to be to skinny in width, as you noticed the side gaps. They also moved the driver fender out in the front to make the gaps even.
Note: My stock hood fit perfect when it was taken off
I think this particular hood is a freak case, and I wish all of you good luck...hopefully you won't have any of my issues. Dont forget, mine was not shipped in a box like all you guys, I got one that was shipped to the distributer on a pallet, tied down with other hoods , then sat around for awhile in a warehouse, who knows what effect all of this had on it!
If only this hood could talk !

As far as getting some outside pics:
I ordered spark plugs today for it, so maybe by this weekend I can get some shots of it outside. The plugs got fouled from starting it up every morning and night just to move it in and out of the bodyshop. I took them all out and cleaned them , took it for a ride last night but still no good, but better than it was.
I cant take outside pics lately because by the time I get home from work the sun is going down, i will try for this weekend.
as far as visibility, yes, you do lose a little bit.
Sorry for the long post...Dave

Sorry you had all these problems Dave..I had no idea Hope all goes well..Good luck. Tomorrow is 2 weeks that my shop has had the hood..No phone call from them,so I guess I'll call. I did'nt want to seem like a pest..I also ordered 2 new headlite covers(under warrany) cuz the tint I previously had on for so long ruined them. They said they had to wait for them to come in.

Hey Chuck are you going to have the bead removed? Have you mentioned that to your shop again? Just wondering. I may give my body shop a call tomorrow or thursday. Looks like I'm going to be delayed in dropping off my car. So my car should be dropped off next week.

On a side note. I saw a yellow Mustang here in the Ellenton/Bradenton area with this hood, possibly the DCF?. Either way it looks great. Little dissapointed that I wasn't the first but nonetheless a GREAT looking hood on our cars.

I'm feeling the same. He may sand it down JUST a little. If he feels it wont affect the hood. Either way I'll be happy.
