Does the boot wrap tight during shifts or does the shifter boot go up and down depending on position? Hard to tell from the pictures

 

it really seems to stay put as it is pretty firm but i guess it could rise up some but it CANNOT fall down off the ****. the shape of the base is desigtned to keep it up.
