One thousand posts on the same topic? Is that some kind of world-wide forum record? It should be...or at least a sticky.

It seems both autosticks have died off...There's been no news on either the TCI or the B&M shifters, both of which are supposed to be coming out "soon."

Maybe TCI's trying to figure out how to connect the handle inside the black box, and I don't know what B&M is up to...

Maybe Ford will get off its rear and give us an autostick in the next version?

I think the chances of this happening has better odds than the aftermarket guys. So it seems.

I can't figure out why Ford didn't create one for the S197's to begin with!

The 2005 Thunderbirds with the same 5R55S transmission got it as an option. $130 MSRP for option code 53S, SelectShift Transmission. Maybe Ford figured if a Mustang buyer wanted to shift, they'd opt for the manual trans (which wasn't an option to Thunderbird buyers).

It's a shame B&M has screwed around for so long someone else has beaten them to the punch.

I think you have a typo. Did you mean screw B&M?

I wanted a manual, but I bought an automatic. I deal with heavy traffic 5 days a week, and I've done that before in a manual, and it was annoying as hell, ate clutches, and was a general pain.

Tiptronics/autosticks are so awesome because it allows me to pop it into automatic during the traffic days, and then on the weekends when I want to play, I can shift into manual mode and have fun.

I can't afford two Mustangs, so an autostick would let me have both setups for the price of one.

And to be honest, the automatic was a $1,000 option. If there was an autostick option in addition to manual and automatic, I would have paid for that instead. Ford dropped the ball.

And I will be waiting for both of you. I won't buy until I've seen more dirt. Someone has to actually buy this thing, install it, tell us how it works and how easy/hard it was to install, etc, before I throw $$$ at something that's barely out of prototype.

Well, I can just as easily say our B&M part # is 81004 and the retail price on the unit is $362.29. I can also say (honestly) as I have always been that a customer came through our booth at PRI who just left the TCI booth and was told they had not even actually tried the unit out in a car yet and the piece on display was not a functional unit. Again, this is what I was told and I don't know for sure so take it for what its worth. I will also say the although TCI is a competitor of ours we have a VERY good working relationship with them. And, I can also say that I have another possible plan up my sleeve to up the "ante" a little bit for our unit in the form of a "tuning" package. Details on that are still being worked out but its on the table.
