I have one. It's the first iteration and the functionality is limited. I prefer my Apple TV that I can throw my entire desktop onto my tv and not just a chrome browser.

I do use it in my bedroom to watch Netflix, though. And it does that pretty well.

They are still updating them though, right? They seem to have more apps, since I last looked at them.

So using FaceTime audio to coordinate a server migration with a coworker and the sound is infinitely better than if we were on the phone. Way more clear and all.

Exactly. But it uses data, so unless you both have unlimited, be weary!

Anyone play with the new Windows Surface 2 tablets?? I played with one in the store and the build quality is amazing, and it seems to flow very well. I may consider getting one, even if its the RT version, the store now has over 100k apps, which has a GBA emulator, kindle, and music apps, so i am good with that.

I was gonna combined it with sync with a mount in the mustang for trips and car shows. A full Microsoft system ? lol..

On other topic, I could see Windows RT being intergrated into ford Sync vehicles.. would be sweet.

I'm still waiting for the price to come down on Windows tablets...almost there. But Surface is out if the question...It's just too overpriced.

I don't want anything to do with RT. I like my Windows to be Windows-compatible.

It'd be cool to see one in a car though. I don't think I've seen a Windows tablet used for that yet.

Have you already checked the "Program Files" folder? I would think it'll still be somewhere in there.

Yeah I've gone through that as well as x86, looking both by name and by date. Tried users, downloads, as well as 'downloaded program files'.

Apparently only available in cyberspace. A search shows you can get a W8 backup app, but only for your data - not the app itself. So in the event of a crash, you have to download all your apps all over again. NOT EVERYONE IN THE US HAS UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH!!

I played with the first Surface Pro, I liked it and I was going to preorder it but they sold out of the 128MB version :/
Probably get it after new year, my boss has one but I haven't had time to talk to him about it.

I got the Omni 10 last night, Runs great. Very impressed, Full version of windows 8.1. Loaded up a GBA emulator from the Microsoft store, and going to town with it. Just need to get a Blue tooth controller. I am loving it so far. Build quality of the tablet is very good. The back side is a ruberized backing. Can get really good grip on it. The screen is a gorrila glass and in 1080 hd. Quality is very high on this thing.

One thing I noticed is that it comes with 32bit windows, but has a 64bit processor. Not sure why they did that.

Most processors now are 64-bit capable, regardless of what OS is used.

Yeah, but in the tablet world, alot of them are not. There are a few Atom Processors that are 32 bit only. Most have moved to 64bit. Which I still question why HP used 32bit OS on a 64bit Processor.

I know at least some of the Atom processors only support a maximum of 2GB of RAM. So if they won't ever be using 4GB+, then they have no reason to use a 64-bit OS.
