The Geek Out
It would help if I actually had time to go to a verizon store and look at the things in person. Plus the salespeople drive me nuts. I just want to be left alone so I can look at something without them talking me ears off.
My screen is 5.5 and is tricky with one hand. I like it though since the screen size is so much better for games and browsing. I want to go back to Moto though since LG sucks for reception. I want a Maxx but since i'm with ATT now, that ain't happening.
I agree, you gotta play with them to know if it works for you. When the sales people come over to me I just tell them i'm just checking them out and will get back to them. They usually back off, but then again, the stores I go to are busy so they have someone else to help while i'm playing.
MAXX is now down to $199. Still gonna holding out for a 32gb moto x.
I don't have that kind of money!!!
So, I got the Windows 8.1 upgrade. The start button is back. Seriously? You left click it and it bring you back forth from the desktop to the tile screen. I could already do that by alt-tabbing. If you right click it brings up some control panel options and a few slightly easier to access options.
I don't mind the tile screen since it's pretty much like using my phone, but this version of the start button seems a bit useless. Then again it's only been installed for 10 minutes so let's see if I used it since i'm already used to getting around Win 8 as it was originally designed.
Right clicked start menu exploded at the bottom left of the pic.

Download classic shell, brings back 7 start menu, boots straight to desktop, and you never have to see the tiles again. Even the windows key opens the start menu rather than the tiles
Gonna try and see if I can get this to work. Still haven't made it to a verizon store though. Feel like crap and have been busier than heck at work.
