A Horse, A Chicken & A BMW:
On the farm lived a chicken and a horse, both of whom loved to play together.
One day the two were playing, when the horse fell into a bog and began to sink.
Scared for his life, the horse whinnied for the chicken to go get the farmer for help!
Off the chicken ran, back to the farm. Arriving at the farm, he searched and searched for the farmer, but to no avail, for he had gone to town with the only tractor.
Running around, the chicken spied the farmer's new BMW.
Finding the keys in the ignition, the chicken sped off with a length of rope hoping he still had time to save his friend's life.
Back at the bog, the horse was surprised, but happy, to see the chicken arrive on the shiny BMW, and he managed to get a hold of the loop of rope the chicken tossed to him.
After tying the other end to the rear bumper of the farmer's BMW, the chicken then drove slowly forward and, with the aid of the powerful Engine, rescued the horse!
Happy and proud, the chicken rode the BMW back to the farmhouse, and the farmer was none the wiser when he returned.
The friendship between the two animals was cemented: Best Buddies, Best Pals.
A few weeks later, the chicken fell into a mud pit, and soon, he too, began to sink and cried out to the horse to save his life!
The horse thought a moment, walked over, and straddled the large puddle.
Looking underneath, he told the chicken to grab his hangy-down thingy and he would then lift him out of the pit.
The chicken got a good grip, and the horse pulled him up and out, saving his life.
The moral of the story??(yep, you betcha, there is a moral!)->

Sheesh - that bites hiney, Tom... I am in and out of factories all the time and places that were once humming along with 3 shifts, now are empty. Sad to go by and see weeds growing up in the cracks of the parking lot. Wasn't it Ross Perot that said (regarding NAFTA) that there would be a huge sucking sound as all the jobs left this country...
Yesterday, I drove the Mustang and under light accel. and a cold engine it bucked once and I got an "Engine Failsafe Mode" error. It still drove ok - less power, but nothing horrible. Got to the destination. Shut it down. Started 1/2 hour later and the error was gone and everything was normal. Anyone had that before? Is that the same as the old generic "Check Engine Light"? My engine has zero mods - it is all factory stock.

Man Tom I wish you the best. The really does bite. Your a smart guy...you'll bounce back quick!!
Chris,
My car has done the same thing several time in 5 years. I never knew what caused it or what made it go away. And it always went away after you shut the car off and refire it. It has been several years since mine has done it. You might clean the TB and the MAF sensor just as a precaution.

I think you'll do even better. I did after 4 months out of a job. Just trying to catch up on bills now.

Good idea - I will have to try that...
My neighbor made some wine from watermelons. I didn't know you could do that. 18 year old wine. Holy Moly is that stuff smooth. Real sweet. Love it. He has 60 gallons he needs to bottle. I need to learn how to make that stuff. He is 89 and has been doing it since long before I was born.

mine did that because of the throttle posistion sensor. Fixed under warranty

Working 2 jobs now!
Money still tight after being out of work, so I emailed my company that laid me off to see if they wanted any help covering Saturdays since I am off on the weekends for now, they said sounds good, come in Tuesday and we can talk.
Sweet, extra cash, and have my shop benefits back!

Consider yourself lucky. We went from working the shop 6 days a week for the past 6 months to 32 hrs last week and the near future looks like more of the same. Building new tooling for new products has slowed dramatically.
