Does anybody know if there is any 93 octane gas available ?
#204
Can you even get 93 anymore? I think the last time I saw any was at a git n go. I don't know of anywhere that you can get any. Can you still get high octane race fuel in B.A. ?
#205
Yes, Paul knows of a place in BA where you can get race fuel, he will let us know when he gets off vacation. There has to be a place in the metropolitan area where there is 93 octane gas.....anybody have any ideas who I could call or ??

Howdy all! I'm back from the dive trip. GREAT time. Dominica looks like it right out of Jurassic park. Rainforest, waterfalls and awesome diving. I'll send out some pics soon.
Welcome David M. To join is easy. Just repeat after me.... " I desire to be a member of the Bold Moves Mustang Club of Tulsa". Poof! You're now a member. Congrats.
Test and Tune tomorrow night! Who's in? Let me know! Gates open at 6pm.
As far as the 93 oct.. None in Tulsa... Ya gotta go to performance parts and fuel in BA. They have 104 oct so, you have to do a mix to get the right ratio. Yes math is involved.

Thanks for the info. Looking forward to being part of the club . Its been a few years since I ran with the mustang crowd. Anyone in the club that used to meet up at supershops on 21st and memorial years back with the fox mustangs? I think the name of the club then was the new breed mustang club. Its also been a few years since I ran at the track. What is the entrance fee to race these days?

Ahhh... yes the New Breed Club. I remember them. I was going to join, just never got around to it. They have since disbanded.
Still waiting to hear back from Jeff... Our treasurer. We won $50 bucks at the GCCM show back in Sep. We were planning on blowing it by paying entrance fees for our members for a test n tune night. So... if we go tonight your cost would be little. However, that depends on how many we get tonight. I think it's 15 or 20 bucks or so normally. Pretty cheap entertainment. Ya wanna go ?

Ok guys... Change of plans. The Test and Tune has been postponed until next week. Hopefully this will give everyone a little more time to prepare. Let me know if you can make it!

Hey guys I guess I missed the last memo about the reschedule for the test and tune.

I went out and ran. I went in with the assumption that I may go 13.8 - 13.9 stock but hey to my suprise I went 13.69 @ 102.29 mph with the TCS on and 13.61 @ 102.34 with the motor a little warm and the TCS off. All on the stock rubber. Not bad in my opinion for nothing more than flowmaster mufflers and a K&N filter. It spun bad on the 1-2 shift. I think that I can get into the 12's without too much trouble. Gears, tires and a CAI kit with tune mabey? What's everyone else in here running? I am kindov curious if my results are typical. Well anyway I will see if I can get out next week. Sorry I missed you guys but I had fun anyway.

Wow David! Great times. My best is 13.6. ( See Sig for mods) However, that was during a hot and muggy night during summer. I can't wait to see what I run now that it's cooler and dryer out. I hoping for very low 13's. We'll see.
PS- I also feel your pain with spinning... Even with my big beefs on the back I still spin.

Thanks, I'm sure that with the cold air you should be able to go much quicker. Some of the cars out there were running really quick with the cold dense air. I was pleased with my performance. I think on the next time out I will play with the launch technique a little and see if short shifting to second helps control the spin a little. I may also leave the spare tire out and see if I can lose some of the extra weight. Let it cool all the way down and I bet I can get into the 13 50s and if I am lucky mabey the 13 40s? I can feel that there is at least another 10th in the car the way it is. I used to run 12s with the 92 notch 5.0 I had a few years back. The 92 had a cobra intake, TFS aluminum heads, MAC 1 5/8" shorty headers, E cam, 1.6 rollers, electric fan, 2 1/2 " H-pipe, 2 1/2 inch cat back flowmaster system, 3.73 gears, aluminum driveshaft, tremec transmission, king cobra clutch, hurst shifter, etc... . It's amazing how different these newer mod stangs feel compared to the old 5.0s.

Sounds like a sweet ride. I had a 96 cobra myself. Before that I had an 87 GT. The platform though is so much better. The engineering is excellent and they made the car really easy to work on. I do all my own mods. I was really surprised how little time it took to install the lowering springs. I had it done in two hours. However, I do have air tools...
As far as drag slicks... They are in the plan. But I don't think none of us have them. But! A few more trips to the track and I will have made a set of my own! )
