Who's reactivated their Global Window feature?
There's a list of dealers in the first post of this thread as well as the instructions on how the service tech can do it.
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=19105
If anyone else has had it done, I'd like to add your dealer to the list to help out others on TMS.

It's in BOLD in the very first post. It's just a list of each menu selection the tech would go through. TMS member darth-bob got it for us.
Here it is:
PROGRAMING THE MODULE
DOOR LOCKS
GLOBAL ACCESS
ENABLE / DISABLE
I go back and update that first thread whenever there's anything new. I added that on 7/3/05 so it may not have been there the first time you ever read it.
Here are his original two posts about it:

I hope that helps.

They followed the exact same directions for both cars. I brought them the directions. Mine could not be activated. When I go into the dealership, I bring a copy of any applicable TSB's or information and tell them what needs to be done. Don't just assume since my car can not be reactivated that I know nothing. The followed the directions to the letter, several times, with no luck. Called and talked to the engineers, who said it was permanently disabled, even if you reactivate it with the computer. Maybe your dealership knows a way around it, but You are the one keeping secrets of the three dealerships in TX that can do the reactivation.
I didnt mean to say that you didn't know anything. I just mean that if you go into a dealership acting like a normal customer who doesn't know much then you can't expect to get much. As far as the dealerships I would love to sit there and say go here or here but then they would probably stop doing it for people since they aren't suppossed to do it in the first place.
Chabbz, I think you are the only person here who claims to know how to reactivate the Global Window feature on '06/'07 models - or that it's even possible.
I call B.S. The way I understand it, the feature still exists in the software, but after a particular point in '05, the actual physical component that allows this feature to exist has changed (to not even include the feature). My apologies if I'm incorrect.
I cite "mstang"s experiment, where a particular module under the dash was shown to be responsible for the Global Window feature - and that newer modules did not allow this feature in older cars: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showpo...8&postcount=93

i just got back from my dealership where i am very good friends with the tech there. we "enabled" the global windows feature on the 06 and it still does NOT work. we did the same thing on the 05 with the same results, so in conclusion it does not work on my vehicles.
krnPimpsta you are entitled to your own opinion but I just shared where to get it done with another member here. Believe what you want but I'm rolling down my windows with my remote. I don't know how its done but I the tech that did mine showed that the modules are all there its in the software that it needs to be reactivated.
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this is
.
Krnpimpsta, the module you mentioned is simply a part of the car's computer and controls many things. In fact, it's what the tech plugs into to reactivate the GW's or for simply testing the computer. Sorry, I can't remember what it's actually called though.
For anyone who might want to try to have this done, don't forget your car has to come equipped with the active-anti theft option from the factory.
Hatchman, didn't you even use the exact same tech that reactivated mine?

ADD ME TO THE LIST!!
Got mine fixed!!!!!!!!
Saturday I took my car to the local dealer to see if they could fix the windows. I got a tech that liked Mustangs and was probably a little bit of a computer geek, so he tried really hard to fix it. He finally went online and found somethin from Ford that told him it wasn't available on my car. I explained to him it was there, it just had to be enabled. He had already tried hooking up the computer to the junction box but couldn't find where to go to activate it. So I just assumed I was S.O.L.
After I left I had to take a trip to Pensacola, FL (about 2 hours away)
I figured since I was down there I'd stop by World Ford and see what kind of mark-ups they had on Mustangs. Just as I was pulling out of the lot I decide to see if their service dpt. was open. I started asking a service writer if he knew anything about the problem. He didn't but he started looking it up in the online shop manual even after I told him Ford didn't want them doing it. He couldn't find anything but he got a couple of the techs involved and when I told them I had a list of dealers they could call to ask how to do it, I think they got a little ****ed. Like I was saying they were incompetent(sp?) Anyway, I think they took it as a challenge and decided to find out how to do it. The techs went off and looked at the shop manual themselves and in a few minutes had me pull my car around. They got their little portable computer / laptop looking "toy" and plugged it into the "junction box". After about 2 minutes the guy operating the computer hopped out and said "There. It works." and walked off. He just wanted to prove he could do it.
So maybe that's the way to get these guys to activate it. **** them off by telling them they can't?
Anyway, its' World Ford in Pensacola, FL and the tech's name is Paul McDonald. 888-864-6732
