Who's reactivated their Global Window feature?
Looks like it's time to try to figure out the dates of when they started putting in the new module/junction box/software.
Going back throught the posts, Valerie (SonicBlue05GT) had hers reactivated and it was built on 3/30.
Brad (Hatchman had his reactivated, but it still doesn't work. His build date was 4/27. And I know the dealer he took it to knows how to do it because they did mine. (build date 2/28)
But here's one twist. Martin (MontrealStang) has a build date of 2/26 and it won't reactivate. I'm curious if the dealer really tried to do it or knows how.
So anyone else with an April build date?

Built May 3rd activated still doesn't work.

Took my car in yesterday and played dumb. Just said the manual says the car has this feature but it doesn't work. I watched them play with the car for almost an hour.
Finally they came back to me and said Ford disabled it from the factory. I guess not all verts can have the windows reactivated.
In the same trip I asked them about the central locking (key in door should operate both locks). They had no answer for that. They said they would call the hotline and get back to me. So far no call from them.
On a side note, they did start out by telling me my car was not available with Global Open (as in never an option) and it did not have an interior motion sensor. You would think they would at least look these things up first.

I am confused. How could you not know you did not have a motion sensor with your anti theft system when you paid for this option? It sits right up there with the map lights. Is there a change between the V6 and the GT?

Oh, and they still haven't gotten back to me about the locks problem.
Global locks and Global windows are related.
We have found consistently that if the Global lock feature works then the Global window feature can be activated.
Granted we have had a relatively small sampling, but that seems to be the indicator.
If the Global lock feature works (presumably old module) then the Global window feature can be activated, and if the Global lock feature does not work (presumably new module) then the Global window feature cannot be activated.
It would be interesting to see if this is consistent with everyone else out there.

After reading through all these posts, I am realizing that I have than a locking feature not working. I thought that my problems with the auto lock feature was because I have a manual not auto. Seems that there are a few more options that are not working.

Auto locking I don't think is available on manual (locks the door when in motion) Now in the manual it talks about enabling it, so there might be a way I'm not sure.

Central locking is not auto locking. Central locking is when you lock your drivers door with the key, it automatically locks the passenger door (Also enables the alarm without the motion sensor).

I checked in the manual and it seemed like those instruction are just for the Automatic.
Though this is crap not haveing it for the manual... my manual focus had it.

Well, you're one of the lucky ones Amanda, when did you get your car? I'm assuming it was before January?

I got mine Jan 29th, the radio stays on when the car is turned off, and it will only go off after 10 min (approx) and once the door is ajar.
Also, my windows go down with the FOB and they go back up with the key in the door.

Could it be that Ford didn't actually change the computer, but simply removed a sensor from the drivers door lock cylinder? This is why the windows won't work from the door lock AND the central locking doesn't work.
If Ford set up the computer so that it would only operate the windows with a clean signal from that sensor, removing the sensor would be an easy and cheap way to disable the windows, even from working from the Fob.
Ford may have found this sensor was the cause of it and removed the sensor, figuring the Fob would still bring down the windows. Hence the first TSB that said the Fob would still work. After realizing that wasn't the case, the second TSB came out.
Of course this is all wild speculation and theory. Anyone know if this is possible or reasonable?
Those of you having trouble with the global locking
feature, have you tried "double clicking" your key
i.e. turning the key to lock back to center then back
to lock again? This works on mine for both locking
and unlocking the doors, and my global windows
feature does not.

The sensors are all the same and all present. We swapped the modules between a newer stock and older stock car. In both cases the Global Windows and Global Locks functioned with the old module and not with the new module.
And again, we have found that if your Global Locks work, you should be able to activate the Global Window function. With the new module, the Global Locks do not work. There are only two modules listed.

It is controlled by the module under the dash on the passenger side.

I just checked my global locks, they work and the global windows do not. So this gives me some hope that the global window feature can be re activated. I will be taking my car in this month for the first oil change, and will try to get them to activate it. ps. build date week of march 7th.

If you are able to lock the drivers door with the key and have the passenger door lock at the same time, and have the lights flash (alarm armed without motion sensors). Then enabling the Global Window feature should work!
Ok... data point to add:
Build date 1/22/05
Car came with global window disabled.
GT 5-speed coupe, active anti-theft included.
Took car to dealer toady (6-30-05)
They tried for two hours and said they couldn't get it working, and gave me a quote from the manual...
"The smart Junction Box (SJB) sends a defined pulse signal on the global open/close circuit to both door window motors to open or close the windows based on a signal received from the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter, door key cylinder or convertible top switch (if equipped). If the accessory delay relay is active, the global open/close feature will not operate. The global open/close feature is only available on vehicles equipped with perimeter alarm built before 1/3/2005. This feature is not configurable."
Of course, when I asked about the "perimiter alarm" I got BS from the advisor, since he didn't know what it was, said it was an option... as if. I said no such animal on a Mustang, at least not that was in the manual...
So... feeling cheated, but late for an appointment, I walked out to my car, and just for giggles pressed and held the unlock button. Guess what... it works! So I went back inside to the service advisor and told him, he didn't believe me, and came out to see it. Then he called the service manager on the phone and told him to come look at it, because he didn't think it would work either. Best part - radio delay still works. If I am reading the above quote correctly, it says that you can't use global open while delay is ACTIVE. This just means that they won't work at the same time. But if the car is off and you are walking up to it, no problem. Just don't try and use global open when you're sitting in it after shutting down, and before opening a door.
Anyway, made my day. Dealer was Paradise Ford in Cocoa, Florida. They didn't even think they did it, until I showed them how the transmitter worked. Thanks everyone here who helped me understand that my car should have worked, and sure enough, did.

Thanks for sharing your good fortune
You must have software version VCM 25 or higher for it to work.
Or at least that was what I was told. I have the diagram that the tech needs to follow to turn it on if you guys need it. I gave it to him and he followed it right to the enable feature. He hit enable and save and that was it. Works great.
