The accessory delay deactivated simply means, open the door when you turn the car off. When you open the door, the radio goes off. That's it.

I got mine fixed at World Ford Kendall in US1 Miami Florida.

Software version VCM 25 or later. All it takes is the service folks connecting their computer to your car and enabling the feature. Simple as that.

My car was built the week of 1/24/05. The software was the most current so all they did was enable the feature.

Everything in my car worked fine from day 1. I could open the windows by holding the unlock button, close the windows with the key in the door, and the accessory delay works also. Why would some cars have it activated, and some not?

So, I guess it depends on when your car was built.

From other posts I've read, apparently there was an issue with the Global Opening feature and the key cylinders. Supposedly, the key FOB was fine so starting 1/3/05, Ford deactivated the key cylinder part. Neither worked for me when I got my car.

Now all is good.

I got mine fixed at TEAM Ford Las Vegas. The service manager did not even know the car had this feature, and was excited to see it work when it was fixed.

Mcmahon Ford in ST. Louis is the dealer that just reactivated mine. All works fine, they said all they had to do was call hotline, and reactivate it. Good luck to all.

So, the windows go down with the fob AND the radio plays after you shut the car off after the activation at the dealer ?

Thanks, everybody. Hopefully that's enough. If nothing else, the list can always be used as proof that it can be done.

Just got back from my dealer this morning, Victor Ford in Wauconda, IL
They got it working no problem, now just have to wait for the new gas tank to arrive, was hoping my car wouldnt have that problem being so close to the TSB date, but it does.

I took mine into Waldorf Ford in Waldorf, MD yesterday to get the feature turned on and they did so for me. They also activated the feature where I can roll the windows up/down by putting the key in the door.
Thanks, Dan. I added yours to the original post. BTW. Have you ever noticed your dealer's name is Ford Law spelled backwards?

Actually, his dealer's name spelled backwards is "Frod law".

ADD ME TO THE LIST!!
Got mine fixed!!!!!!!!
Saturday I took my car to the local dealer to see if they could fix the windows. I got a tech that liked Mustangs and was probably a little bit of a computer geek, so he tried really hard to fix it. He finally went online and found somethin from Ford that told him it wasn't available on my car. I explained to him it was there, it just had to be enabled. He had already tried hooking up the computer to the junction box but couldn't find where to go to activate it. So I just assumed I was S.O.L.

After I left I had to take a trip to Pensacola, FL (about 2 hours away)
I figured since I was down there I'd stop by World Ford and see what kind of mark-ups they had on Mustangs. Just as I was pulling out of the lot I decide to see if their service dpt. was open. I started asking a service writer if he knew anything about the problem. He didn't but he started looking it up in the online shop manual even after I told him Ford didn't want them doing it. He couldn't find anything but he got a couple of the techs involved and when I told them I had a list of dealers they could call to ask how to do it, I think they got a little pissed. Like I was saying they were incompetent(sp?) Anyway, I think they took it as a challenge and decided to find out how to do it. The techs went off and looked at the shop manual themselves and in a few minutes had me pull my car around. They got their little portable computer / laptop looking "toy" and plugged it into the "junction box". After about 2 minutes the guy operating the computer hopped out and said "There. It works." and walked off. He just wanted to prove he could do it.
So maybe that's the way to get these guys to activate it. **** them off by telling them they can't?
Anyway, its' World Ford in Pensacola, FL and the tech's name is Paul McDonald. 888-864-6732

Yes, I had them, but they did NOT need to be reprogrammed. Like I said, the tech just got up and walked off after he activated it. I tried both remotes and both of them work. They didn't do anything at all to them though.

OK, I have the alarm and remote start, and I got a new fob at that time. I tried it and when I hold down the "unlock" button, my trunk opens. When I shut the car off the radio is still on unitl I open the door.

IS THIS NORMAL? WHy wont the windows go down?

The radio staying on is normal. All the '05's do that.
As for the windows, which alarm do you have?
Did you get the sperate option for the "Active Anti-Theft" system? That's the part that allows you to roll down the window from the remote that we've been talking about.
The unlock button should NOT open your trunk. Only the blue button should do that.

I didn't know there was a remote start option on the '05 Mustang. PonyGirl, I think StangNut is right, is your alarm the optional, factory installed "Active Anti-Theft System"? I won't work with an aftermarket or dealer installed option, or the "Passive Anti-Theft System" from the factory. If you don't know, try looking above your rear-view mirror, on the edge of the map-light console. If you have two little round sensors, you have the "Active Anti-Theft System."

Bad news. My motion sensor isn't working now. Going to take it to the dealer next week. Looks like one of the the two tech's turned something off.
