DUH!! :bang:
As I got in my car yesterday, I remembered the 10 sec delay for the motion sensor. Tested it again (allowing for the delay) and it works just fine.

OK, sorry to bring this thread back, but I want my global open/close re-activated. It is not working from the key fob or in the door cylinder.

Has anyone in or near Cincinnati had a dealer re-activate this? Please let me know what dealer.

So, the windows go down with the fob AND the radio plays after you shut the car off after the activation at the dealer ?
My windows roll down with the fob and the radio stays on after I stut the car off until I open the door. I didn't even know they did that until today.

Well, you're one of the lucky ones Amanda, when did you get your car? I'm assuming it was before January?

To anyone who has had their windows reactivated, have you experienced that problem that made Ford Deactivate them? (i.e. windows opening on their own.)

Well, I'm not having any luck with the dealer I bought from. They called the Ford tech line and was told the cars now being built can't even be re-activated. My sales guy called two of the dealers on this list (I faxed him the list, great idea thread starter!!!). The dealer in St. Louis said they had no idea what he was talking about. Then he called Victor Ford in Illinois. The service manager told my sales guy that the most recent cars being built CANNOT be re-activated. Is this BS? Its not a huge deal, I love my car, but this was one of the features that I wanted when ordering the upgraded alarm. How can all these dealers be in the dark about this, my sales guy thought it was like on-star where they could unlock your car if you locked your keys in it.....clueless!

It just pisses me off that Ford dissables it instead of fixing it! They will hear about it on my survey!!

I went to my local stealer this morning as well. I wish I would have waited a day and read the previous two posts could have saved me some time. After three hours, they were enable to re activate the remote window down feature. They called the engineers, and they said cars made after 1/3/05 did not have the software installed for this feature, so it can not be reactivated. They did not say why. They said maybe installing a pre 1/3/05 computer may reactivate it, but it will also have all the TSB issues associated with the earlier builds (I'm not sure what these are).

So basically, unless I put a pre 1/3/05 computer in the car, it's not going to work. I would assume Ford could build a new program for the newer cars that will reactivate it, but I don't know when or if that will happen.

Either way, I still love the car, I just wished everything worked on it.

If anybody with a newer build gets there's working, I'd be interested to know how.

I got told the same thing today. But in this very thread with build dates after Jan. 05 you have had it reactivated.

My car was built 1-27 and I had my feature reactivated with no problems (knock on wood!) I have had my car since February, and the feature reactivated since end of Feb and no issues so far.

moc1976, My car was built May 3, 2005 - Same week as yours. My dealer enabled the Global Window feature to no avail. It still doesn't work. Also if you want to enable the alarm WITHOUT the motion sensor you can use the key in the lock. WHICH is supposed to lock both doors but does not. How can they just take this feature away. Ticked off...

My car was built 3-30-05. Picked it up on 4-12-05 and my husband (Lincoln/Mercury tech) enabled the global window feature before we went home. I have had no problems.

I don't know what the F is going on. My sales guy called one Victor Ford and they said it cannot be re-activated. Why would the service manager at one of the dealerships that has been re-activating lie about it. I don't think they are, I trully think our cars can't be re-activated. Maybe Ford caught wind of people re-activating and put a stop to it! After all, we know they read this site!

I just put a call into Ford Customer care. The person is going to call my dealership and ask them what the situation is (I was standing there when they made the change). But the way it looks, this feature can not be re-abled.

Hey on yours if you get out with BOTH doors unlocked and lock the drivers door with the key does it lock the other side as well (Mentioned on Page #65)? I need this feature in order to enable the alarm without the Motion sensor!

I know there's other ways to do it. But this is by far the easiest.

Whatever was changed I'm sure someone will get to the bottom of it.

Would your husband be willing to share his inside information so we can all know what's going on with this? :worship:
