That's great. I'm happy for you. Now, if I could just get someone to activate mine.

Thanks for sharing your good fortune
Check out the very first post in this thread. It has a list of dealers that know how to do it. One of them is in Miami.

You must have software version VCM 25 or higher for it to work.
Or at least that was what I was told. I have the diagram that the tech needs to follow to turn it on if you guys need it. I gave it to him and he followed it right to the enable feature. He hit enable and save and that was it. Works great.
Bob, please post the diagram or send me a copy. Hopefully I will find someone willing to enable mine someday.

How do you disable the global window feature? I came out to my car one night and the windows were down.....must have been that the button got depressed while the keys were in my pants pocket, and I don't need this to happen on a rainy night.

I believe this is one of the reasons Ford has disabled the feature. Glitchy.

Yoy would need to take your vehicle in and have a tech access the puter and disable the feature.

You disable it the same way you enable it. Hook it up to the laptop and go through the menu to the global alert feature and there are two options to press- enable or disable. Hit the applicable one and then hit save and exit. Unplug and your good to go. I looked for the menu list (what I mistaking called a diagram) but I think I left it in the glovebox of the other car. I will find it and post it this afternoon.

I got mine Jan 29th, the radio stays on when the car is turned off, and it will only go off after 10 min (approx) and once the door is ajar.

Just a bit off topic but I found out that if you turn the radio up or down with the alarm off after the car is turned off that the radio doesn't shut off after 10 min.
It's like it resets itself for another 10 min after putting the volume up or down ,works great if your waxing the car and want the radio on for the whole time.
If you get a chance give it a try and let me know if you get the same

I could be wrong but check it out and see.

Is this the only way? I thought someone had made mention of repeatedly doing something with the key fob to change the feature, but I'm not sure. I'm going in foir some warranty work within the next week or so, so if I haven't figured something out before then, I will just have them disable it at that time.....

Ok...here it is.

Tell the Tech to look in the laptop under:
programing the module/ door locks/ global access/ enable dissable.
Mine was listed as dissabled so he enabled it and it worked.

Denver, How did it work out for you?

Anyone else have build dates to add? So far the the dates for the new software that won't let you reactivate it are between 3/30 and 4/27.

I'd like to get my hands on that Laptop software program and a connector.

Sure wish I could browse that stuff myself.

Any sources?

Tom

Patience, your car was built (07/05) well after the cutoff date. None of the cars built after 4/27/05 are going to work. Could be some before that date that won't work either. We don't have an EXACT date yet.

Any one else try? And what's your build date?

Have you had a tech try to reactivate it? (and did you order the active anti-theft option?)

Tom, Check out the first post so you can tell the tech how to do it in case he doesn't know.

Denver, keep us updated.
