My car does have three different wiring harnesses spliced together, just like the Falcon has 3 droid brains running its systems. It also has "smuggling compartments."
I just need to mount the quadcannons(wip actually..) and and we're set
Yours has a forged fox motor now right? No more than a 150 shot and it will be enough. That's what mine can handle with molly OEM gapped rings can take, so yours would be the same I guess.

After some failed attempts at the thermostat gasket resulting in tiny dribble leaks, I decided since smog is looming over me this coming week I just drove her down to a local shop I've had work on the car before. I do have to say it felt good to drive it again today, but I really need to get it aligned. A lot of alignment shops wont touch it here, so time to find some old fashioned east bay shop lol
no bullitt updates unfortunately, havent had much time for tinkering what with midterms, hence the shop in the first place.

So apparently I can only take the car to a STAR testing station. Thanks CA for making this process more difficult every time I go through it
In any case, drove the car more today than I have in a long time. But I ran into some worrying things. The temp gauge gets really hot really fast. I know 5.0s are hot running motors (petes white car was always like this too) but I chickened out, multiple times, to let the car cool down.
Does anyone know if there would be any issues using a gauge for the V6 car on a V8? I started too wonder that as I was sitting down. It could just be reading way hot for the old motor, and I might have been just wasting time. In any case, I'm going to call the shop tomorrow or friday and see whats up with that whole deal.
The car did smell pretty hot, but I also don't know if that was spilled coolant just evaporating off. The laundry list of issues continues lol.
I also got pulled over today, for a crooked/shaky licence plate, even though I know for a FACT it cannot be pulled off. No ticket, which is nice. And a lot of compliments while it was parked from passersby
Every time random people complement my car while I'm driving, historically, leads me to some sort of failure lol.
I never made it to a STAR station, so I'm leaving that for friday. Class all day tomorrow and buttloads of hw to do today. sigh. It also needs a wheel alignment, bad lol.
At least I got to drive her though. Even if one eye was glued to the temp gauge, and the other on the dwindling gas, and all of my attention focused entirely on making sure it was runnin ok and that I didn't overlook anything that could become a catastrophe..... I still love driving this sum*****

Passed with flying colors, but still developed some heat issues during the test until they turned the fans on.
In any case, that infrared thermometer idea is a good one, will have to look for one at safeway next tiem i go. Eventually I would like a numerical gauge there though

I've used over the years an adjustable fan control with good results, so you just plug it in amd forget about turning the rad. Fan on. They come in two versions. The one with a metal line with a probe attached, and the electronic thermistor type. They both work great.

I have a DCC electric fan controller in the Fox and so far it has been working well (knock on wood). Easy to install. The newer units are much nicer and can handle more demanding fans too. Also available with a thermistor-type sensor IIRC.

I do have a fan controller the shop gave me that they never installed. But as it sits, one fan I believe is always on, and the other is activated by a switch I have mounted on the Megashifter.
Once the car is running I usually turn the second fan on regardless, since it started to develop this habit (or since I developed this newfound fear
lol)

Thought you might like these two photos as well! Guy getting a new back-half for his King Cobra at the shop (Paul's Automotive Engineering) where the Mach is getting some upgrades. It has a 347 up front and the shop also made some custom headers for him . . . **** cool ride!!

Excellent!!!
That red one looks like the one that drives by in this autox commercial
That back half looks very interesting. I've always pondered about how to go about changing things around in the rear. Right click, save as
This also reminds me have you seen this?

Custom chassis, widened body, Triton V10, Corvette six speed rear mounted... I've been watching their build on Facebook for dayyys. And they spliced on the 71 mach hood

Mild updates. So as I may have mentioned, whenever my car is running and I turn the headlights on, it dies. Has no problems with the fogs, but for whatever reason the headlights kill it. it wasn't like this when I got it back from the shop originally. I'm wondering if the extra draw from two electric fans constantly running is proving too much for my cars charging system, so I decided to order a 3g alternator and the wiring necessary to install it. Hopefully this will allow my headlights to run lol.
and at the same time, I've been struggling with that cooling issue still. I wondered if the fans themselves are not getting enough power, in which case, the 3g should help. However, today I also discovered that the cap to my coolant overflow tank has a pretty big crack in it. So definitely going to pickup a new coolant overflow soon to deal with that.
hopefully this will solve (most of) my (current) issues
