Making arrangements is such a hard thing to do when someone passes. My husband and I were just talking (again) about meeting up with a friend of ours that is a funeral director so that we can make whatever arrangements for ourselves now, so that it is one less thing our kids would need to worry about when the time comes. He already has a plot next to his daughter, with his ex-wife having a plot on the other side of her. But there is still a lot that will need to be arranged that we should take care of now....but we never seem to make it a priority and we should.

Thank you everyone. I truly appreciate it.

Yes, if you can make and pay for arrangements, it makes it that much easier. My brother and I had to do the arrangements and paying, but this is our parents, so we will do it.
Thank you everyone. You are all truly so kind,

Rocky.
I hope all is well. Please post your results whenever you want. Please do share.
I appreciate your kind gesture. You are a true gentleman. Thank you.

You're very welcome, Tony! Anyway, all is well, and the biopsy results revealed the 2 small papillary growths removed last week were just wart like irritations caused by the BCG treatments.... Therefore, as of right now, I am cancer free... My next reexamination appointment is on June 18th and then I'll be resuming BCG treatments once again beginning in July for 6 weeks which is required for preventative/maintenance purposes... In the meantime, I just want to give my thanks and appreciation to my urology specialist and his staff for providing the best care possible and for keeping on top of everything, but most of all, for saving my life.... I also want to once again show my gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to everyone here on TMS for keeping me in all your thoughts/prayers and support during these last 8 months which felt like the darkest period in my entire life, but thanks to all your support, it really helped encourage me to keep thinking positive, stay strong and to never give up hope... So once again, I just want to say thank you for being with me during such a long a very stressful ordeal, as I couldn't have overcome beating this dreadful disease without each and every one of you for being there in my corner...

-Rocky

Tony! I am very happy that I've been able to provide you with at least some form of happiness and brightness, as I know exactly what it feels like to lose a parent or family member to Cancer, as lung cancer does in fact run on my father's side of the family.... It took 51 years of cigarette smoking before I was finally able to kick that nasty habit for good... I always make certain to get screened for lung cancer every year and I thank God for having been really fortunate up to this point... As for the bladder cancer, to my knowledge, I am the very first in my family to have ever been diagnosed with it and also hope to be the very last, as I wouldn't wish something like this upon my worst enemy knowing how painful and uncomfortable it is having to go through both the procedure and treatment processes... But thanks to both my family physician and urology specialist, the bladder cancer was diagnosed and caught early enough before it was able to spread outside of the bladder walls or to other organs...Therefore, Tony, I am asking you and everyone on this forum to make certain you all get screened at least once a year, as I don't ever want cancer to take you or anybody else, as early detection is the key towards preventing this dreadful disease from taking you from your loved ones and for those most important in your life, as I can't stress this enough...

-Rocky

My Friend,

It's Funny That Was I was Just Looking at My Son's Cancer Topic and you were The 3rd Person to Post All those Years Ago & You Shared Some Recent Similar Incidents in Your Family. Seems The Dreaded Cancer is even More Rampant These Days. I Value those Who Supported My Son's cause All those Years Ago & Treasure The Fact You Are Still Active Here!

I Have Lost Most of My Respect For The Medical System as a Whole By Now & I Would Ask You to Watch this Video. I Have no Doubt Knowing What I Know Now I Would Have Done a Lot of Things Different Now if I Had a Family Member with Cancer. I Would Look For Natural Healing Processes. This Lady gets Hammered Here & There on the Web as Far as Deviating From Normal Treatment as Do Any Who Question The Status Quo. I Believe you will Find Some Value Here!

She Just Resonates with me as Someone Who generally Cares about People and Sharing Her Knowledge!

My Prayer For Your BFF is To Find a Natural Treatment Wherever it May Be!

Dear Lord, Guide All Those With Health Issues to The Truth for Their Health Needs!
In Jesus Name!

Warm Regards,

Kc

I think you know how we feel about kids with cancer in my house. My husband’s daughter only had 5 short years on this earth. No child should ever have to go through everything she went through. Just heartbreaking.

As for my BFF, while she was waiting for the scan results, she was praying for guidance and whether she should do the clinical trial. Before the results, she was unsure if she should go through with the trial if it showed shrinkage or no growth. She took the results of the scan as her sign that going through with the trial is the right thing to do. Her son just gave her the first grandbaby in November, and her daughter is getting married in November. So she has A LOT to live for!

Rocky Great news on your visits! Glad to hear you are doing well and things are ok.

Tony, Sorry to hear about your father. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Jill, sorry to hear about your friend include in my thoughts and prayers as well.

It is very hard to watch our parents (and even some friends) deteriorate in front of us. Also knowing that what our parents are going through is a hint at our futures... Both of my parents are in the upper 80s. Still with me and currently doing ok, but not as good as they would like to be.

Thank you, Steve! I give all the credit to my urology specialist and his staff for staying on top everything with the treatments and most of all, for catching the cancer while still in the early stages... The next re-exam is this upcoming June 18th and then the next round of treatments resume in July... So, it appears I'll be required to receive maintenance treatments every 6 months indefinitely, as a precautionary measure... Although the treatments may be an inconvenience and very uncomfortable, it's a very small price to pay when it comes to preventing the tumors from coming back, so in the end, I'll do whatever it takes.

Hello. My name is Mike and I'm fairly new to this forum and this thread. It really caught my attention reading about those fighting cancer. I too am fighting cancer. My first cancer was thyroid cancer with a complete removal in 2001. Then back in 2019 was diagnosed with stage 4 thyroid cancer in my lungs. So my thoughts and prayers go out to you all that are fighting this horrible disease and too the ones who have past from it.
