Only real interior problem I've had was the center console armrest started cracking and coming apart at about 200K. My suggestion would be to not put your elbow down on it for leverage when scooting your fat **** in like me, lol, but put your whole fore arm down instead of the elbow bone at a specific point.
Also, the cruise control buttons (the ones on the left side of the wheel, on and off) cracked and fell apart at about 220K. They still work, the button mechanism behind them is still there, but the cover over them broke apart.

My driver's seat is power. Controls are just outside the picture. And there is a small slit in the center console armrest. I'm not too worried about it though. The notch's is coming apart from the inside out.

Sorry about that Nate, I worded it incorrectly. I meant my fat ****, not that you were a fat ****. My 14 year old 00' Limited has much nicer leather on the console, the seats, and the door panels than my $60K Shelby does. More supple, softer and higher quality. The vinyl in my 01 XLT is like you mention, the console has cracked all to hell over time and its because of my fat **** digging my elbow into it when I scoot my fat **** into the seat. No other explanation than that.

Somebody deleted my old signature. And why have so many people that use to be mods with a name in green, now have their name in red? Evil Capri, etc. ?
Shouldn't I have my name in red, or at least green as much as I post here and try to keep people in line?

I didn't get out of bed until 3:30. I knew it was cold as hell outside and it was just so warm and comfortable right where I was.

Lee do you know anything about the stereos in these things? I've got the CD/Radio/Cassette (no sub) and I want to put something else in here. I've got two plugs going into the back of the radio but I'm not sure which is which. Are there some extra amps hidden somewhere in the car? I'm gonna put one of my spare amps in here anyways so all I really need to hook up are the power wires but I'm not totally sure which is which so I don't know which wiring harness to get. Normally crutchfield would help but they only seem to be making things more confusing and tell me I need some sort of amp bypass adapter. So if anyone has any insight I'd greatly appreciate it.

Why must they make things so complicated? The bypass adapter says I need to run wires back to the amp. If I'm not going to be powering my speakers with the HU, do I still need to do that?

If yours does have the external amp the by pass plug is just a little short jumper with a female plug on both ends. It connects the two leads at the amp, the one coming into it from the radio and the one going out of it to the speakers. Only time you'd need it is if you put a powered head unit in so it wouldn't be putting power into the amp instead of just a sound signal, the bypass plug would just go around the amp and send the power from the head unit to the speakers.

I'm so beyond confused now. I did look in the driver's side rear by where the jack is kept, and there is a black box with what looks like speaker wires coming out of it.
