Thats friggin awesome Lee, especially the quitting smoking part. Im down nearly 60 since my heaviest, and I feel infinitely better. That plus working out, and getting some other stuff right, i do feel like a different person.

Well, that 1 hr is a bit optimistic but I'm close. I recently got a Garmin GPS running watch that I've been using that tracks everything and then you upload it to the website to keep all your stats. Overall I'm averaging about 16 1/2 minutes a mile. My fastest mile is 15:30, fastest 5k is 48:40 and my fastest 4 mile is 1:04:40.

I've only had it about 2 months, I wish I would have had this thing since I started walking in May/June so I could see my progress over the whole time. When I first started, about a 1/2 mile was all I could do and it took me about 15 minutes.

I wish I could run/jog but my body just won't let me. Every once in a while when I'm walking I'll try a little bit but after about 50-75 yards my ankle and knee just give out completely. Just shooting pain through my ankle especially.

This is an older model I think but like you say, all the stuff it tracks and the way you can set your goals and graph all your stuff you upload is pretty impressive.

Edit: Its a Garmin Forerunner 220

Lee, i really am happy that you quit smoking. I seriously have to somehow too
I could stand to lose just a couple of pounds. What I really need though is to exercise and firm some stuff up. Darn middle age.....

Lee do you have a pool nearby? Swimming is so much easier on the body.

I have a pool, but the water temperature is down to 61 degrees, a bit too nipply for swimming.

I wish I could exercise more. I always feel like total crap afterwards. All these people talk about feeling great after doing a workout or whatever and I'm like, you're full of bull****.

If you go for a month, or even a couple weeks, that good feeling starts to kick in. I was sick all last week and didn't do anything. Felt like crap not being able to do anything. With the baby and work, I hardly have time for anything, so I do a couple sets of push-ups and sit-ups in the morning before work, and when I can at night. That alone makes me feel so much better. I do them every day. So missing 5 days, killed me.

It's not much, but it's better than nothing.

Try this - do 10 push-ups and 10 sit-ups in the morning, and 10 of each at night. Each week go up 1...so 11/11, and so on. Once I got to 15, I started going up in increments of 5. I'm doing 30-35 now, depending on how I feel (and if I drank the night before lol). It's not much, but again, it's something!

I'm gonna get down to 170 and see how that works. I've been 160 before a long time ago, but there were extenuating circumstances not related to exercise or trying to be that skinny, lol.

I've got one, but I've already closed it for the winter. Too cold to swim anyway during the winter here.

After I got into it for about a month, I started really feeling good after exercising. On the days I walk, I've got so much energy the rest of the day that I get a lot of stuff done. I feel amped up all evening after I walk.

I couldn't go for the first 3 weeks of this month because of stitches, and it about killed me. Now its raining all the time. I'll have a hell of a time getting started back after that.

I used to exercise everyday, but even then I still felt crappy and exhausted afterwards. Probably something wrong with me.

I don't always feel great after a workout, but the especially good ones are great! I'd love to have an endless pool to swim about 30 minutes before work everyday. I'd probably drop a lot of weight in a hurry then.
