I was looking at ford escapes but they have transmission issues.

I don't want a big car since I love my focus.

Does anyone know what the best AWD vehicle is?
Can you use studded tires there? Studs on all four wheels, with front wheel drive has been pretty surprising.

Mazda CX-5 will be our next car, after we get a house. We looked at the Escape too, and I just don't care for it, mechanical issues aside. I'd get a used 2012 Escape with low miles over a new Escape.

I really want a Sport Trac with V8 and 4wd though!

I have no idea but will have to look into good winter tires for my car. Just don't know what to look for.

Any car with snow tires will be good in the snow, as Charlie said. That is key, period. Pair a higher ground clearance, AWD, and snow tires, and you'll be unstoppable. Check out the CX-5, it was conceived still under Ford guidance with Mazda and it's one of the top rated small CUVs.

My sister has an '05 Escape and loves it. It gets her wherever she needs to go. :-)

Yeah ehh I've heard similar things with some Mazdas, just out of warranty. So trade it before the warranty is up? Lol

That's what I have now. 117k miles and I can't kill the thing. The gas mileage has gotten terrible though, which I'm sure is partially attributed to the spark plugs needing a change.

I don't think you have enough clearance - even for cable chains. That's why I couldn't go with the Focus. Snow can get serious over the pass in a hurry and chains have to be an option out here. (Not to mention OSP requiring them in certain storms or they turn you back.)

Subarus are known for their snow prowess. Match an outback or legacy with snow snow tires and you'll be passing trucks stuck in the snow.

My sisters both have escapes ('05 and '11). They are awesome in the snow. You barely even notice it's there. My AWD explorer is pretty good too. Only got stuck once.

I know someone who put snow tires on their corrolla (bleh) and was raving about how well it did in the snow. I doubt studded tires are legal in NYC. They're not here.

My sister's '05 has 156k miles. Thing has been through hell (my sister pushes it super hard ) and it is still going.

My first Chemical Guys box came today

I also ordered a bunch of vinyl samples off amazon. There's this cool "vinyl cut tape" product too...you lay the tape first, where you want your cut off line to be, then you lay the vinyl over the tape, then pull the tape up, which cuts the vinyl and makes a perfect cut off line from the bottom! It has like 4.5 stars on Amazon and a ton of reviews, so I'm thinking I will be able to do my graphics myself!

What do you have in your arsenal? I have a LOT on my wish list. I'm going to use up my Griot's and Meguiar's stuff first, then switch over as I run out...

LOL, way too much.

Blacklight
V7
A quick detailer I forgot the name of (it smells like cotton candy/bubble gum)
JetSeal
Butter Wet Wax
FP polish
All in one polish
A stage 3 polish (that I'll probably never use)
A glaze I forgot the name of
Their tire gel (or whatever it is)
Black on Black (awesome for engine bays)
And some pad cleaner and conditioner

I know I'm forgetting something.

I've also got some older Zaino stuff, some meguiar's stuff, some mother's stuff. And I'm not sure what else.
