That has to be what it is.

This is what I was thinking. Even the richest car collector in the world wouldn't be driving one of those to a store or other parking lot and leaving it open and unattended.

Took a couple of swigs out of a bottle of Ketel One earlier. God I don't know how the ol' lady drinks that **** only mixed with some tonic and lime ( and the tonic makes me almost puke, that is some nasty ****).

Women are strange creatures. They can drink nasty **** like that, but ***** about swallowing.

Who gives a **** if you weren't on the road where other people could be involved, lol.

Hell, if I was rich, I'd have a hell of a thing going on. I've thought about it for years. I love to drive around when I'm lit, but I can't for obvious reasons. I'd love to build a huge road course like the 'ring but here in Ga. for people to hammer their cars on. But also set aside days where people could hang out in the club house, get hammered and go drive around the place drunk for a nice fee. Waivers signed excluding us from liability, etc. I think it would be great.

Yep. Summer of '12 I took a ride in one around a go cart track. What a blast! $25 for 2 laps, fast as hell. All replicas/continuations.
At least half of them had the 427 emblems, but 21 I rode in was like most - a 351. His words were 'a detuned nascar engine' . But lots of power and power sliding through turns.

Dry county where we were and it's a county owned park.

That's awesome Charlie. I wish you could have made a few laps back in the day in my old Late Model dirt track car with the Yates motor in it (before Doug merged with Roush).

Do you not have enough sense to carry with you? Come on dude, not even a quart of moonshine from back home? At least a half of Crown, bring the **** with you. I don't go anywhere dry without my own stash.

But I'm an alcoholic, so maybe that explains some sheet.

Wish I could wave a wand and make all my ailments disappear. I'd be happy as a pig in poo. If I could wave that same wand and make myself a teenager again with what I know now, I'd be downright dangerous.

Sign me up when you do that. I've thought about buying some land to build a 1.5 mile road track where I could run my car and have friends come out for fun and get the grandsons into racing. But even a track that small would take a fair sized piece of property. And I'm pretty sure Mrs Patrick would not like that "investment"

It actually looks too nice to be an original, they were pretty rough to be honest. Bordering on shoddy. I once read an article about Carroll where he said that if you see a beautiful, slick, fine looking Cobra, its probably a fake, lol.
Very much so. There was a real deal original at a car show last year, and they had it up on stands, velvet ropes around it, mirrors so you could see under it, and probably a security guard around it somewhere.

It did look pretty rough though. Kinda like something people would build in their garage, which is basically what that car was.

Couple more pics of another original. The raised flares, and another absolute tell, the reverse speedometer, although you can buy those, the originals all had them.

Did my first Blackstone Labs oil test: didn't want to post this in an oil thread because, well you know... all the kooks come out.
Thought it was a good report. Particles from metals associated with bearings, pistons, rings, valve train, etc., were at or below Universal Averages for the 4.6L3V.
The comment of copper in the average 4.6L makes me wonder if Ford uses more oilite bronze bushing/thrust washers than other engines maybe (since other bearing metals were low therefore it isn't bearing wear)? Or it says can be an additive in some engine oils. Does Motorcraft add some maybe?

Hi. I'm new. I wanted to do a 25Kish 'check in' of my engine. Thought about it and forgot about it - until the oil was draining in the dirty pan. So I have the oil in the old filter which your faq's say is ok.

VEHICLE: 2008 Mustang Bullitt, 4.6L 3V (no mods), ordered new. Current miles 26047.

MILES on oil to be tested: 5681, drained & reserved in filter on 11.28.13. Since there wasn't a lot of oil left in the filter after removal, I had to pour pretty much all that would come out to fill the sample container on 2.11.

BACKGROUND: This engine has always used the Ford recommended Motorcraft Synth-Blend 5w-20, and the Motorcraft FL-820S filter. First oil change was at 700 mi., subsequent oil changes are once/year just before winter storage in my garage (5 mos), and have ranged between 2608 - 5681 miles depending on summer usage. It has had an oil sep (BKU Motorsports) since 7358 miles. The engine sees redline at least once/drive, after at least 30 minutes driving at highway speed so it's well warmed up.
2.17.14

CHARLES: This first sample from your Bullitt looks great. No fuel or coolant was present, and wear metals are appropriately low. You'll notice that copper is the dominant metal in this sample, but if you compare that to universal averages, then you'll see that's pretty normal for the 4.6L 3 valve. Universal averages show typical wear levels for this type of engine after about 5,100 miles on the oil. The viscosity is in the 5W/20 range, and low insolubles and silicon show good oil and air filtration. Taking the sample from the filter didn't hurt anything. Nice engine at 26,047 miles.
I would say this is evidence that the criticisms of Motorcraft filters and 5w-20 Synth-Blend oil are untrue and not based on facts.
