Yup. I sleep really well but when I'm working straight days, there's just not enough time. Even getting to bed at 9:00 is just too late. That gives me only 5hrs.

I can't work on that little sleep anymore. I'm just not young enough. I can do it for a few days, but then things get really hard to do without screwing something up.

Exactly. But if I want to spend any time with the wife and kids, 5hrs is all I get. Night shift is so much better since I can sleep all day uninterrupted. Get even less time with the fam though. So neither one is truly better.

Ya, bad timing. I wonder how many people aren't going because it's holy week.

I'll echo what Matt said. A full night's rest is invaluable. That's the main thing I hate about our Saturday work schedule. I understand having to work Saturdays because of how much there is to be done, but I don't understand having to be in at 830. Even 10 would make a big difference for me in how much sleep I get.

Really doesnt matter what time I go to bed, or how tired I am, I really don't fall asleep until 1230 or so.

Lmao. Yeah it's like that sometimes. I miss them until I actually spend time with them. Then I just want to go back to work. Lol

You really want to have fun? Go up in an open cockpit aircraft. I had the pleasure of being allowed to take the controls and fly a Waco biplane around Mount Desert Isle (Bar Harbor) Maine.

Wifey and I were on vacation and there was a company at Bar Harbor airport that gave biplane flights. Since I let her order a custom made ring from one of the shops in Southport, she told me to indulge myself. I mentioned to the owner of the company that I was a student pilot, he said that he would have his pilot put the stick in the front cockpit. Once we were airborne, he gave me a few tasks to do to see if I knew enough to fly the plane. He had full instrumentation in front of him; all I had in front of me was an airspeed indicator and an altimeter.

He told me to do a climbing two minute left turn at 30 degrees angle of bank, then he had be do a descending two minute turn to the right at the same angle. I executed both, then he said "okay, you can fly her... if you want to take pics, let me know an I'll take the controls". At one point, we did a few aerobatics.. it was awesome! He let me fly the aircraft back to the airport all up to the final approach for landing, where he took the controls because the Waco didn't have flaps like the Cessna 172 I fly at home.

Once we were on the ground, he asked me if I had my log book, as he was a certified flight instructor and would give me credit for the flight. I did not, but my name is in their computer system. We went back to Bar Harbor the following year, but the three days we were there it rained and they were not open.
