on one of my trips to Charleston, I had nothing to do, so I went exploring downtown for a day, went in a lot of shops, checked out the architecture, etc.
There's a church down there, with headstones behind it dating back to the 1700's with people being born in 1600's. Really incredible when you think about it.

And then I contrast that with me being only the 5th deeded owner of record of my land (after the Gov bought it from a local tribe in the 60's for National Forest land, leaving only a few scattered parcels for private ownership. Owners previous to me were opportunists that never planned on living here). And I'm the only person to ever live on it. Which is pretty amazing too.

i actually read an article a little while ago about some guy in tennesse i believe who had like 20 kids with 18 diffrent mothers and was paying just over a dollar a MONTH in child support because he was working a minimum wage job!
