Mod... Bug... Biting... Hard!

I'm gonna get some silverstar head lights, and that led me to wanting the headlight restore kit, which led me to wanting even more light, which led me to 55w off-road lights, which need a place to mount which lead me to a grille guard...

40+20+25+75= $160.

But if I can't get the used grille guard I'm looking at, I'm looking at $225 to do all this...

Brush Bar/Light Bar full size p/u - $75 (pinellas)

just get the headlights first. Is it a plastic headlight? You can just get Meguiars plastx and a cloth. It'll do well enough with plenty of elbow grease, you dont need the whole kit

Meh, used it, not impressed even with a buffer it's not good if lights are real yellow. I say save the money and just use the 3M kit. price between 2 isn't that much. I felt the 3M did a much nicer job too(looked good as new). Just got to remember to take your time and use even pressure. I'm very happy with the results. (BTW-this was on the Audi)

What i have done in the past is taken a fine fine wet/dry sandpaper and wet sanded the lense first then hit it with Mcquires Cleaner wax and brought out the clearness like it was new again

My buddy got the 3m kit to for his chevy 2500. The lights looked brand new after he did it. But I've also done it with a 3 step process using increasingly fine grits like 2k and up and a orbital sander. Now that turned out awesome

The 3M kit is only $20 bucks, the megs isn't much less, and I've only heard good about 3M.

I'm looking at Silverstar headlight bulbs. I love seeing everything...

As long as it's still there in 3 days when I get back to Florida, it's MINE. That and if I can see a way for it to bolt on, but shouldn't be too much issue. A new one is $140+shipping, and black. Chrome and $75 is much better! I want it BAAAAD!

My headlights aren't even that bad if you ask me. But after looking at the new replacements I see what I'm missing.

Which silverstar bulbs? The ones I have don't last very long at all. Still better than stock though.

I think advance back home has 'em for like $25-$30 bucks... Light bulbs shouldn't be so expensive! I could take the back half of my housing off and just put off road lights behind them for less money

This is such a sad story. However, I find it staggering that out of 5 people, none of them had enough common sense to realize that leaving a car running in an enclosed garage connected to your sleeping area might have been a bad idea.

The next 'wireless' will be light? Them Minnesota boys are thinkin'...

excerpts:

The LVX system puts clusters of its light-emitting diodes, or LEDs, in a standard-sized light fixture. The LEDs transmit coded messages — as a series of 1s and 0s in computer speak — to special modems attached to computers.
A light on the modem talks back to the fixture overhead, where there is sensor to receive the return signal and transmit the data over the Internet. Those computers on the desks aren't connected to the Internet, except through these light signals, much as Wi-Fi allows people to connect wirelessly.

He said the radio spectrum usually used for short-range transmissions, such as Wi-Fi, is getting increasingly crowded, which can lead to slower connections.
"Light can be the way out of this mess," said Kavehrad, who is not involved in the LVX project.
