Hood came today!

It looked awesome! Well at least it would have looked awesome if I hadn't put a 12" scratch in the top of the hood getting it out of the box.

The box flap had staples in it and I didn't remove them. Then when I tried to slide it out of the box the flap laid down on the hood and scratched it as I pulled it out. I hate myself. Oh well. I think the stripes will cover it, if not I'll get it repainted and get the bottom done too. I'll worry about it later. More than likely this will delay me putting it on though.

**** I feel for you, That's something I would / have done. Would have made me sick, but its better than someone else doing it.

On a side note my A47 mirrors look great.....did I already say that? If I did sorry to repeat myself.

I'm still unsure about the vanity plates... I have been getting mixed thoughts about the "NONAME" idea.

I really thought you already had A47 mirrors.

Are they Alloy or the matt black?

Well they were ordered some time ago as an xmas gift. So I finally got to open them Saturday. I had them painted to match. I knew I didn't want matte black, I had thought about two tone alloy and matte blk stems but decided to go all alloy. They do a great job painting the stuff.

You need to get those wheels mounted and post some pics. I bet the "Horse with no name" looks down right sexy now!

HAHA well see, I think now I may be happy for a lil bit only other thing I want is a cowl hood and a blower.

Oh yeah and Koni STR-T's, and a big brake kit.

OK I think that's it.

Ouch. That really sucks. But I could see that happening to me as well.

Kudos on arrival of hood! as the others have said exactly what I would expect from me as well. Sounds like you were a little over enthusiastic unwrapping your present

Hey Gary, How's the wiring going at the new homestead? Get all your stuff pulled yet?

Anyone have any suggestions on a smaller SUV that is safe and reliable? My sister really needs a car, and we're not having much luck. Everything I find is either really high mileage or too expensive. Not sure where the best compromise is. My sister really wants a jeep, but as I've seen around here, they're nothing but trouble.

Today I pulled 53 drops. I finished all the speaker wires, half of the cat5e, and about 1/3 of the RG-6.

I've got a full day of it tomorrow.

It will be awesome when its done though. I really should take some pics. After having done this 3 times already, I've really got things figured out now. Every minute detail for every room is thought out. I'll have 2 rooms with 5.1 surround sound. 3 exterior zones of audio with a pair of speakers each. Plus 3 additional interior zones of music with a pair of in ceiling speakers (kitchen, master bed, master bath)

I'm also doing a cctv security cam setup. It'll have a 1TB hard drive for recording and IR cameras. In addition to the regular system.

Then the garage will have its own setup with 2 flat panel TV's and 2 pairs of on wall speakers.

I'm planning on using a Sonos system to ti it all together and gain control via my iphone as a remote.

The there's the remote location of the great room surround system which involves the IR repeater system.

And all of it home runs to two separate structured wiring enclosures. 1 for all RG-6 and the other for all cat5e and speaker. Plus I used a pair of 2" conduits for each enclosure as a raceway to the attic to make it easier to add on or change things around.

Yeah. I was on a ladder pulling wire 1/2 a mile away when I get a call from the wife saying FedEx Freight was at our house. It was 2:30 and they were supposed to be there closer to 5:00. So I get off the ladder and book it to the house and the box has zero holes in it. So I sign off.

Then I pull it out of the box just to see it and thats when I noticed the scratch. It was directly underneath the staple on the flap. Stupid thing is there is a giant piece of paper on the top front of the hood that basically says "Watch out for staples they will damage hood!"

I've been looking, but I'm not sure how many is too many miles. Most are at least above 100k. I found this, but it's a little ways above our price range, and my dad is never willing to try to get them to go lower. 4WD and ABS are pretty much necessary. My other sister's malibu is pretty much a death trap with all the ice and snow.

I'm sure a compact SUV 4x4 in winter is the reverse of a convertible in summer up there. In other words right now it'd cost more than it would 6 months from now.

That is pricey though. Heck if thats true they hold value better than a Mustang GT it seems.

Ya, it sucks. If only my dad had listened earlier. That is about the price of the GT two years ago, so I'd say it's about the same around here.

I personally know of 3 '89 SSCs that ended up in my area when they came out. A friend of mine had one of them (along with a slew of other Saleens) and countless other Mustangs.
