I've heard it in the rear floorwell of a '91 fox vert. Sounded good I was thinking of putting in on the trans hump on the floor. Nice and centered, with a straight shot at filling up the most air with bass

This $200 is the sub, box, amp, and amp wiring kit, so it seems like a pretty good deal to me.... All I then have to do is hook up the remote turn on and wire in the sub (which should just be the RCAs in the back of the head unit, right?

Or you can steal the one my wife is going to put on her Stang that says DNTHATE

Glad your ok!

I was reading an article after the Haiti quake that the best place to be in the event of an earthquake is laying next to an object like your bed or a sofa or something like that. If the roof would by chance collapse it would create a void right next to one of those objects where you could have a better chance of survival. They say that the worst places are under something like a desk or table or in a door frame.

Update on the wife. She is feeling a little bit better but not much. They have her on a clear liquid diet right now. She told me that if she is not considerably better by tomorrow they are going to tube her or whatever and cut out parts of her intestine and colon and biopsy it. So right now it is still a touchy situation on what is going on with her.
Thanks Dirk. I didn't knew that the worst places were those. Glad to know it now.
Hope they figure out what she's having and fight it.

I made a decision on the sub I'm gonna put in the truck. It's a shallow mount 8" in a powered (120 watts RMS, 250 max) enclosure. I've heard it in my friend's Fox, and it'll definately do what I want

Here's the link, any opinions? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_777B8PT...w&rvm=ShowAllt
Powered subs work wonders when space it's at a premium. I like my amplified 12" sub. It sounds clean and strong. My buddy with the 90 GT hatch wants an 8" sub. He already has an amp. I offered one of the 10" boxes I have but he said they're too big for the cargo cover he has.

That's the beauty of it, everything is tucked inside the box. Ideal for a clean and easy install.

That's the other reason I'm thinking this route. I really have no space to spare for a full size, and I'm kinda iffy on whether or not there's enough air to move around behind my seat.

So I'm guessing I got the idea right then? Just run the power wire from the battery to the amp, and the remote turn on from the HU to the amp, and an RCA cable for the sub? Do I have to ground the thing coming off the battery?

That's something you have to try out when you get it. I've always had the best results aiming subs at the rear of the vehicle, near the trunk opening. In your case, near the cab walls, or under the seat.

Yes. Hook the black wire to the red wire. It'll make nice sparklies.

I've tried powered boxes in the back of a Land Cruiser and my F150. Always disappointed. I would think your better shot would be the round door subs from an S197 Shaker 500. At least the door provides a bit bigger chamber to move some air and they give you some thump.

Look at bass guitar amps. Don't need 15's. Lot of guys like the punch of 10's. But look at the size of those cabinets. If you want to move some air, you need a box big enough to have some air.

Nathan texted me a pic of his new girlfriend. He doesn't care for her smoking much, but it does seem to cover the smell of her sh1tty bad breath when they kiss.
