This sentence caught my attention...
Nathan Singh, who worked at HMP Leicester, was fired for gross misconduct after an investigation.
So Nate may be related to Arin somehow

The storm kind of went around us.

It's weird. They came on TV with the local weatherman making emergency announcements every few minutes and all it was was a little rain.

Last Saturday no one came on the TV to say anything and we had 8 inches of rain and high winds.

That happens here too. The news could really care less unless its one of the snobbish areas of town like plymouth or maple grove. Not that you even know where that is.
