Yep, just like a black car. Weekly wash, California duster in between. Dust shows, but it looks great when kept clean.

Has the same great look as black from a distant, then surprises you up close.

 

I originally went in to order Race Red, however they had just gotten a Lava Red in that morning. I changed my color. I didnt like it in the pics I had seen but in person I fell in love with it.

Ordered April 1st, delivered May 20th.

Every time someone posts a pic of their car I get more excited for my own. Beautiful car man.

 

I feel the same way man and I'm counting the days.

 

Ordered mine on 5/21. I hope I get scheduled before the color runs out.

 

When I was waiting for my car, I checked this thread nearly every day hoping to see more pics of Lava Red Mustangs. I was often let down by the lack of posts. But now that I have mine, I feel it's almost my duty to share with those that are waiting.

Such great pictures. Post 'em as fast as you take them! Your pictures are as close to the "real color" as I've seen. It's such a hard color to capture properly in pics........

J1000, such great pictures. I think your series of pictures really illustrate what drew me to the color -- it looks black sometimes, black with a little red sometimes, and almost burgundy at others. It looks AMAZING with the tint -- that will definitely go on the car almost immediately! Can you post another pic or two showing side profile with the tint? Also, did you get a sunstrip on the front? It's hard to see.

 

I'm out there pretty often; I just live a couple blocks off Woodward in Royal Oak.

 

Thanks! Sure; I'll post up some more later today after I find a nice spot to take some. With the huge tree in my front yard, its hard to get a pic where the whole car is in the sun.

There's no sunstrip on the windshield, just the factory shading with the subtle pony in it.

Here's some of the pics I took today. First is in front of Kobie Solomon's mural on the Russell Industrial Center. Most of the rest are in front of Michigan Central Station (seen in many movies, and will be seen again in Transformers 3 at the end of the month).

Thanks! I'm not joking when I say that at LEAST once a day, somebody comes up to me in a parking lot or yells from their car window while driving, etc, asking what that color is called and then tells me how awesome it looks. It's so subtle, but when the sun hits it just right, the lava flows.
