Who went with Lava Red??
Well folks. I cancelled my order. Just couldn't wait any longer. Finances are about to take a nose dive. Sooooooo. Proud owner of 2012 Kona, and with 0% FORD Financing & X Plan.
I'm a happy camper again

Lava Red is not one of the paint colors affected. Red Candy was the only Mustang color on the list of colors affected, but I think they have enough to get by for Mustang orders. The black on the mustangs is not metallic, and is not affected by the shortage.
That is my dream car!
Well actually this one is, http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national
But yours is close enough to drool on my computer monitor.

Looks FANTASTIC. I'm ordering the same basic car tomorrow.
I couldn't decide on a car color. My wife and I walked up on a Lava Red color and I said "That's the color". She said "What color? That black car?"
That made up my mind. I LOVE the color. Can't wait to own it!!

Do you happen to have pics? I ordered the same color combo and have yet to see good pics...
I used to have a Nissan 350Z,the color I had was called brickyard. Very similar to this. I love this color. I'll be in the market for a new Mustang GT convertible soon. Love the way the interior looks on this too

The next to final chapter of my LAVA SAGA.
My illustrious Dealer, who could NEVER give me any updates, has had MY Car delivered!! It was built 3/28/11. Delivered today 5/17/11. He has front and center in his Showroom, showcasing it.
It's photo's are dropdead gorgeous with it's MCA Trim and Glass Roof. Ya I'm po'd about the whole experience with them. I will NOT do a drive by to see it in person however. I'll wait till I see it's new owner around town, to see it.

As a previous owner of several dark colored cars... it depends.
Here in New England right now we have a ****load of pollen in the air. Add to that the dust of a couple construction zones and I'm can tell you it's a *****. The wife's Lexus SC430 is a similar color, a dark metallic purple, and I have to wash it almost weekly.
Best advice is if you live in a similar environment is either 1) learn how to do a really good clean and detail, with a quality paint sealer / protectant (Klasse, Zaino, etc) and keep a nice coat of top wax on it. 2) have a detailer do the same.
Then you can use a california car duster to keep it mostly clean during the week and then a light wash with a spray detailer on the weekends. I can go 2 weeks before her car starts to look like it really needs a wash.
