I really believe they kept the build down due to the rebates and assistance cash that was offered for all the 2008 and 2009 GT500s that were left in stock well past the model year.
Any news about my car?

Definitely agree that production will be limited - the degree of limitation is still to be determined. Ford only sold 1,628 copies of the '69 Boss 302; however the '70 model was produced in far greater numbers - 7,013 according to most sources. Would Ford consider paying homage to history and match one (or both) of those production volumes?

Personally, I would love for Ford to offer the street Boss 302 with a detuned version of the R1 race engine from the Boss 302R. However, the real question may be does Ford think they can sell 4,000 to 5,000 units of such an animal? While we know the R1 will not be anywhere near as expensive as the $25K Cammer engine but it is probably safe to assume a premium of at least $5K for the R1. Also assuming that the street Boss would retail for ~$42K with a warmed over production 5.0L, could Ford justify an approximate 12% premium for the R1 engine in essentially the same car? Certainly this is all speculation but these are likely the decisions being weighed within Ford now - obviously they have several options to achieve a street version of the Boss 302.

I know it's not a direct comparison, but Ford has sold roughly ~7000 SVT Raptors so far. I think they could find 4,000 homes/year for the Boss....

I'd be happy to adopt one.

After thinking about it more, they'll make 3020 annually. I could see that being the production # for these.

Nah, I'd say between 3500 to 4000 a year.

How many 08-09 Bullitt's were made in that two year stretch? How about Mach 1's? I'm guessing that they'll be on par with that. I figured 3020 would be a nice limited amount and have a little quirk to it.

I don't see why not. It's been used before by Ford. I had a 2002 Ranger FX4 that came standard with 4.10's and a Torsen diff. in the 8.8 rear housing. Worked great both on and off road. Had to be a pretty slippery situation to actually need 4 wheel drive.

This is what I last read on a Mustang production site (http://mustangattitude.com/default.shtml):

FINAL PRODUCTION 6583 (5773 08’S, 810 09’S)

Seems like the 01 B was in the mid 5k's...

So a two year run of 3020 each would yield 6040 cars, just about what the Bullitt had over a two year run. Seems to me like that number could work really well for them.

It's NOT 3020
haha

I'm hoping we'll see something before autoshow season, so keep your peepers peeled.

So is it North or South of 3020?
